Lot of 11 Vintage Antique Door Knob Back Plates Escutcheon door bell cover brass
I have one lot of antique keyhole and door knob cover plates and a door bell covers for your consideration. There are 11 knob covers and one door bell cover. Four of the knob covers are brass(see last pic) and the remaining 7 plus the door bell cover are made of pressed steel. The two smooth plates measure 7" x 2 1/4" while the other plates measure 7 1/2" x 2 1/2" The bell cover is 5 13/16" x 1 5/8 x with the screw holes 4 13/16" apart. These are in good condition. Great old antique cast iron victorian design door/ house bell. This great piece measures approximately 3 7/8" in diameter x 2" tall. The bell does still have the knocker inside. You can here it when you turn or shake it. The screw on the top seems to be frozen and I was unable to get inside to see if there were any markings. There are no markings on the outside. Antique Door Bell Buttons, Lot of Six, Nice!!
This auction is for a very nice lot of six antique door bell buttons. They do need to be cleaned up and have not been tested. They do appear to have the needed wires on the back(although I'm not sure about that) The small buttons are made of a plastic-like material(possibly Bakelite? and they measure 1 5/8" W and 1 5/8" H. The larger plate is made of brass(it does not attract to magnets) and measures 1 5/8" W x 3 7/8" H. I do not see any markings on the back of any of the plates. Thank you.

Great antique fire alarm or industrial electric bell. The solid cast brass bell dome measures 6 in. in diameter and is fully polished. But not lacquer coated so it will eventually patina if not occasionally polished. The bell has a great ring tone when operated by hand. The cast iron frame has 90% of its original black paint or Japan coating. Beneath the bell are several gold pinstriped design accents. The windings show electrical when tested with an ohm meter, but the bell was not powered up due to my lack of knowledge on the correct voltage needed. The connecting threaded nuts are working and recently cleaned and oiled. The ringer or clapper has its original tensioning spring and is adjustable There appears to be a makers name in the rear casting. But is not legible due to the heavy coating of black paint. This is a DC bell and I tested it using a 12 volt battery charger with positive on the wire and ground on the bracket. The bell rings loud with a beautiful tone. The flywheel mechanism inside turns and has a metal ball on one end and counterweight on the opposite end. It spins and clangs against the interior ... moreof the bell fingers from centrifical force. This item is being relisted due to non payment from high bidder This is a very unusual piece of Rare Chinese White Jade. The jade is of very fine quality white jade that is very clean and opalescent. The carvings are very deep and of very good quality and is quite old. The item started as a vary ornate box lid in the 19th century with very ornate and gilt pierced brass work. it was converted to a door or desk buzzer most likely in the early 1900's. when this was done. There was a circular hole cut through the middle of the carving and a mother of pearl and brass button was added. The piece is mounted on a piece of wood for the added wiring and all the pieces seem intact. So it would probably still work. Jefferson Nutone K46. No chimes or bells. As pictured. It Worked years ago. Not sure now since been in storage. Just got back out. Beautiful piece. I know its an antique and is worth $700 without chimes. It has original wheels and stuff inside it. I think it only needs to be wired and chimes put back on it to make doorbell. Has the magnets and is set up so that the clapper vibrates against the bell. I am sure you can see the possiabilties here! Measures about 8; inch from end to end of the bell and is about 3 inch wide. Frame is cast iron and should be easy to cut if needed.
