This is a very nice pair of solid brass Andirons with Chippendale style claw feet from around circa 1900 that are in well used condition. There are two steel fire dogs that hold the logs when the fire is burning. This set is well used and shows signs of long time wear and tear. The pictures are of the actual item you will receive. Beautiful French Wrought Iron Andirons
These great andirons are French style with a cannon ball top and Fleur-De-Lys detail. They stand 29" tall and 27.5 inches back in length. The rod is separate and comes off but I think this is where it would go- it's included and if you know where this piece went. Please let me know. I did not clean them but just dusted and wiped off the dirt. They are in excellent condition with no damage and no breaks or cracks. They really are quite something. They are really very heavy and so I listed them as pick up only but if you want to arrange a freight shipment, I will help out.

Hammered Ball Style Round Top Andirons Fire Dogs Log Carriers
This listing is for a pair of andirons that are cast iron with the design embossed. I saw some similar to these fire dogs called"Hammered" But I don't know if the design is cast in or carved or hammered. They are cast iron and are quite substantial. Translation- Substantial means heavy! The andirons were rescued from an old. Defunct antique store in the Detroit area. To my eyes. They look very nice as they are, but. There is a bit of a shiny. Metallic sheen in parts of the uprights. I don't know if it is a plating or just patina of age. I did not try to polish them up. Choosing to leave that decision up to you. I do not know how much is plated& how much is not. The only other things I can think to add to the description are- There is the number 200 cast into each upright The log carrier arms are held on by old-timey ... morescrews and square nuts. This auction is for a set of andirons. It is a Butler and Maid set. I discovered them at an estate sale here in Alabama. They are made of heavy cast iron and are solid. They measure 16& 1/2 inches tall and 17 inches long. From the front to the end of the log bar. They weigh 40 to 45 lbs. I believe they were made in Georgia post civil war era. Late 1800's. The y are in very good condition. They do not come apart. They did come apart when made but have sort of solidified together over 150 years. 20"H Antique Cast Brass Iron Fireplace Mantel Mantle Andirons Hearth Log Holders
Penn Antique Restoration. 20" H Pair Antique Brass Fireplace Andirons. These beautiful antique andirons were made around the first half of the previous century and were salvaged from Northeastern PA. They have cast iron shanks. And heavy, cast brass guards. Unlike many lesser quality andirons available on eBay; the guards on these andirons are not plates or halves-the design you see on the front is the design you see on the back. Each guard has curved legs and a bulbous. Tapered body with 2 cups and a solid finial on top. The shanks, which hold the logs, curve to the sides of the guards at which point they continue straight, away from the guards. There is a brass plate covering the curved portion of each shank. Notice the delicate brass finials adorning the shanks at the point where their curves end—what lovely accents! The beauty of ... morethe design is enhanced by a wonderful. Rich patina. One of the guards has a significant degree of verdigris(green patina) We rubbed them with oil to accentuate the beauty of the patina, and we scrubbed the shanks with steel wool and WD40 to remove most of the rust. If you would prefer the brass parts bright and shiny, we could clean and polish them for an additional $60-let us know after the auction. We've included a photo of a similar pair of andirons that we cleaned and sold a few years ago(see last photo) All parts are in great shape with only a few nicks and scratches here and there. Otherwise there are no breaks. Cracks, dents, or deep scratches.
