VINTAGE PAIR OF 25 3/4 " HIGH CAST BRASS FEDERAL URN TOP ANDIRONS
Please see all of the photographs and read the complete description. Both the text and images are considered a full disclosure of condition. This listing is for a pair of very nice vintage andirons. They are cast brass with a Federal urn top and finial. There is an elegant design fabricated on both the urn and upper shaft. Which tapers into a fluted column and square plinth. The pair sets on spurred arch legs and penny feet. They also have very decorative flame finial log stops. Each piece stands a statuesque 25 3/4" high by 12 1/2" wide at the feet, and 20 1/2" in length, and weigh 12 pounds each. These are an excellent pair of classic andirons with a beautiful patina that would add elegance to any home. There are of course some marks and slight surfaces scratches acquired over the years of use. But they obviously were very ... morewell cared for. This pair came from high end New England estate. VTG Antique? Cast Iron Fireplace Andirons Solid Brass Ball Tips African Lion
Today I have a wonderful set of cast iron body. Legs and Lion fireplace andirons in great used vintage condition. I don't know the age of these beauties but they are stunning next to the fireplace. The balls have normal scratches-scuffing from age and use but I see no dents or damage to balls or tips. Dimensions of this bold gold and cast iron is 18 tall x 8 3/8 wide x 12 1/4 deep. Will be disassembled when shipped for protection and a safe arrival. Solid Brass Andirons. Nice set of 18th century American design"Heath" andirons made by Virginia Metalcrafters. The Harvin Co. made all the brass andirons and candlesticks and such for Colonial Williamsburg and other historic sites until merging with Virginia Metalcrafters who continued to make the andirons in the exact way they were previously produced. Measures 17" tall with a short shank of 6" deep. Very heavy.about 13lbs each! These were recently acquired at a Vermont estate sale. They are fairly clean. I have had it a long time and it has been stored. You can see from my pictures that it needs to be cleaned but it is gorgeous when polished. Set of Brass Andirons for Gas Fireplace Chippendale Style with Spur Leg. And Ball& Claw Feet They are 18.25" in height From foot to foot is 8.50" The have a short shank ideal for gas fireplaces. The iron shank is 2" long. There is some tarnishing and several pit marks but they still have a shiny lacquer finish. When looking at them from several feet away the tarnish is barely visible. On one of the andirons. where the center/middle brass joins the spur feet. It is slightly off center. I tried to see if I could adjust it but could not. Early-19th-C. Federal Brass Andirons-very much in the style of John Molineux andirons early 1800’s Notice the"Chippendale" style ball and Cabriolet legs ending in claw feet. Federal design in ball and claw feet. Vintage Marked AWS Andirons~Brass Finials~Wrought Iron Legs~Fireplace Log Holder~ In original condition with evidence of hand filing. Very well made with curved iron dogs and bar supports. Very heavy. Andirons have no marks. The cast iron parts are marked 101L&100R and"AWS" This pair is in good shape. The hardware is original and in place. COMPLETE WITHOUT DAMAGE OR DEFECT AND ARE IN OVERALL VERY GOOD CONDITION I had them polished to show off their beautiful brass shine. But there is still some natural patina on the brass. There is some rust on the bolt and square nuts on the bottom. Minimal surface wear and ... moremarkings. I am not sure of the age of these. But based on my research it would appear they are from the 1800's. Definitely Early American brass cannonball andirons c 1840 The decorative portion of these are solid brass. Of course the rear portion is a heavy cast metal. I did mention that they have square nuts which you don't see very often anymore. Approximately 17-1/2" Tall. 18" Long, 10" Wide Large ball top that measures approx 4.5" in diameter. Each Andiron weighs over 8 lbs. They will be diassembled for safe delivery. A beautiful. RARE ANTIQUE PAIR ANDIRONS CAST IRON FIREPLACE FRENCH BULLDOGS GREEN GLASS EYES
This auction is for a pair of rare antique Andirons cast iron fireplace dogs. I think these dogs are either French Bulldogs or Boston Terrier Bulldogs. There are some letters embossed on the back of each dog. But I can't make them out. I think it stands for Liberty Foy Labrador. Each dog has original green glass eyes. one of the eyes has a little rust stain on it. As far as I can see, the eyes don't have any chips. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to the cast iron. There is light surface rust on them. I took some pictures with the flash and some without. These are a darker brown color. Each one stands 17 inches high by 7 inches wide. The original back brackets that would have held the logs are not there. I made brackets to hold the dogs up, so they could stand by themselves. Sold as is. Truman. There is a tag? or something in his pocket that has the letters 300 and Ga and the number 33. That led me to believe that is for him being the 33 President. I don't know what the other number mean maybe foundry marks. Or maybe that is supposed to be a buck in his pocket for"The Buck Stops Here" They are very old, probably made in 1933? I would appreciate any knowledge that you may have on these andirons. This is the best that I could do. They measure 17 long, 17 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" wide. You are bidding on a pair of antique cannonball andirons with the matching grate. These are from the Rostand company but the date is unknown and the label is unreadable. All that can be made out on the label is"Rostand 3 on one of them and Rostand 4 on the other. These were previously in a house that was built in 1903 and have been there for the past 3 owners. These are in great shape for their age. Have very few flaws, are hollow, and have no dings or dents. These andirons and the grate all have beautiful patina which really give these items character. rare antique 45 pound solid cast iron Chinese warrior figural fireplace andirons
This is a very rare high quality antique solid cast iron Chinese Warrior figural fireplace andirons. they are made from solid cast iron and weight a very heavy 45 pounds. they have an abundance of intricate detailing and are very dimensional. they acquired a wonderful patina from age and are marked by maker on the backside"Oneida Ornamental" in heavily embossed lettering. both have cast iron wood rests that attach to the backside. it is a very innovative design. The iron rests sit in the square hole on the back of the figures and the weight and angles of the andirons hold it into place with no screws. they are in wonderful shape and each measures 17 5/8 inches tall by 6 1/4 inches wide and are 19 1/4 inches back to front. Wonderfully rustic/country style, brass finish fireplace surround, 2) two. Solid cast iron andirons with satin antique brass finish, Surround measures 31"h x 38"w x 5"d from back of surround to tips of feet on each end in front. Sides. Top and grillwork have an antique brushed brass finish. Screen is black steel mesh and fully functioning with pull chains on right side. Andirons measure 17" h x 6"w 16"d and are heavy. But move freely. Although both surround& andirons were manufactured with an antique satin brass finish, they also have a well worn, natural patina and are believed to be circa 1965. The fireplace surround& andirons ... morepictured in the photos are the items you will receive. Significant assorted scratches. Minor dings, and natural patina on grillwork are consistent with the age of item and are apparent in the photos. Sides and top of surround show considerably less wear than grillwork. Cast footings on each end of surround& cast andirons both have a similar finish, the wear& patina is consistent with the rest of the item and is apparent in photos. The color and finish of the the items may vary somewhat from photos. Due to the use of incandescent lighting and digital processing, however, they do have a very nice brassy finish. Vintage Sheffield Solid Brass Mid Century Cannon Ball Fireplace Andirons
Solid Brass Fireplace Andirons Mid Century Large Colonial Solid Brass 3 1/2" Ball attached to a 14" decorative body Used; Very good condition with some tarnish left on finish. I did take apart both Andirons to thoroughly clean in warm water. Using a mild dish washing detergent, as it was pretty filthy and covered in spider webs. The slight amount of tarnish left behind gives it a nice distinguished appearance. All brass has been verified to be solid. Measures 17 1/2" tall; 7 3/4" wide at legs; 3 1/2" diameter ball; 2 5/8" at widest section of girth.
