Location: Hubbard, United States Here is a great old iron fireplace screen and set of andirons. This set was purchased together at an estate sale. And I am selling them together, although ... moreI do not know the actual origin or age of these items. They certainly appear to be hand hammered/hand forged and they do make a wonderful set. Everything is iron(magnetic) and you can clearly see the forge marks in the iron. There is some degree of surface rust on these pieces and they need to be cleaned up. I do not see any damage/holes in the fireplace screen. There is also an original emblem mounted in the center of the screen. The andirons seem to set better when they are angled out just a bit, and I have noticed this on other sets I have seen for sale. The feet of the andirons touch when they are positioned straight out. The screen measures 37" wide by 31" tall, and the andirons measure 14" wide by 21" tall. This is really a great old item. I can send any additional photos that you request. As we head into winter it's time to built a roaring fire and spend time around the fireplace. And to add to your fireside viewing pleasure we offer this pair of antique owl andirons! Each andiron or fire dog depicts a tall owl perched on a branch with two glass eyes with black pupils. When the eyes are backlit by the fire they glow a beautiful flickering greenish yellow! Each andiron is in two pieces. With the brackets connected with a single bolt and nut. When assembled each andiron measures 15" tall, 9.25" wide, and 18" in depth. The andirons are unmarked except for a trapezoid shape on the back, but we've seen identical examples made by Howes of Boston and Rostand Manufacturing Company of Milford, Connecticut. Each tool, except the scissor tongs, has a solid brass Egyptian figural handle. The broom bristles are, I believe, made of horsehair. The stand base and top figure are brass. I sell items from estates and have been asked to sell this Unmarked set of CAST BRASS AND HAND FINISHED"DOLPHIN" ANDIRONS. They measure 19" Tall including the base. 17 1/4" DEEP. Base is 8" ACROSS THE FRONT and 3 1/3" deep. They ave the log guards or dogs attached. They have a few pits and appear not have been used in too many fires. There is a small corner where the brass finish has discolored? There are some scratching and a little pitting in spots but really doesn't detract. It is hard to find a matching set of this type. The brass shows years of patina. I am unsure about the age of these tools but they must have some age based on Quality and patina. They could be polished up to look like new. I think part of the charm is in the Patina. The andirons measure 20 1/4" Tall x 9 1/4" wide at the feet and 19" from the front to the back. The fireplace tool holder is 30 3/4" tall the base of the stand measures 8" in diam. It is weighted and sits firmly when tools are on it. What a nice set to complete your High style fireplace.

The metal is magnetic, yet it has a brass color to it. The back part is a cast that has a lot of rusting and wear as seen in photo. The front andirons are a cannon ball style and they are numbered 3685 on the bottom. There is a very old partial part of a sticker that is left on one, I was scraping some off with my finger nail, but I'll leave to buyer as to not do any damage to the item. These andirons combined weigh 16 pounds and they each measure 7 and 7/8" wide by 20 and 1/4" tall by 15 and 1/8" deep. The log holders are bolted to the uprights. American Indian Figurine Fireplace Andirons
Cast iron fireplace andirons with American Indian figures. VERY unique and rare. Native American figurine with bow in one hand and arrows in the other. A similar set of these in Bronze sold recently for $2.600.00. These are cast iron and not quite as well defined on the carvings but identical in every other way except for the base. The bronze set only had a very plain flat iron base. These have a scalloped shell type of motif. See pictures. Incredible find! Purchased from an estate auction in New England from an estate sale of a home over 200 years old! Don't know the age or manufacturer but they are OLD! Measurements are 18 1/2" tall, 7 1/2" wide at the widest point with 16" log rails.
