I do not believe these are bronze(as they are magnetic), more likely they are cast iron plated in a thin layer of bronze or brass. They are marked 3718 on the inside. Matching Pair of Antique Cast Iron Andirons with possibly an Art Nouveau design featuring a woman's face. Andirons are in Good Condition with some rust and nicks along back of rail where used. Both measure 13 1/2" long. 3 7/8 wide at front and 7 1/2" tall. Pair weigh approximately 25 lbs. Originally designed to simply lift logs up off the hearth. The principal centers for American andiron production were Philadelphia. New York, and Boston. Unfortunately, very few andirons bear the makers names. The front of one andiron appears to be marked with a"C" Andirons return enduring architectural and functional beauty to their original resting place- the hearth. Hand hammered and in excellent original condition. We think these wrought iron fire dog andirons date to 1900 or earlier and they came from an old 1800s farm house. Each measures 17 ½” long, 5 ¾” wide at the front feet, 7 ¼” high with total weight of about 5 lbs. Very appealing form. Check out my! We are always listing an unusual variety of quality items. The top is urn shape. PAIR Antique Cast Iron Andirons Star Mark Skeleton Key Andirons. Fire Dogs c1900 These have developed a beautiful rustic look over the years! They stand 11 ¾” tall– are 7 ¼” wide at the feet– measure ¾” thick– and have a depth of 8 ¾” to fit some of the“older” fire places that were not quite as deep. The circle at the top of the Skeleton Key has a 2 ¾” outside diameter– and the“Star” marking has a 2 ⅛” diameter. This pair MAY BE older than 1900 but I do not think them to be any newer than that. I have gently wired brushed these and applied rust preventative so as not to damage the wonderful patina these have developed. As you see in the photos one does have a backward tilt that has likely been there since it was made. NOTE: With no packaging these weigh 16 Pounds! Antique Cast Iron Andirons–Fluted Column Skeleton Key Design–Fire Dogs c1920 This is quite a nice set– I especially like how the flats in the back are grooved or wavy to assist in keeping the logs in place when building a fire. These measure 10 ¾” tall at the front section and are 10 ¼” deep(9 ½” deep from the back of the front upright) measure 6 ¼” wide at the feet– are the metal is ⅞” thick at the legs. Both did have some surface rust which I gently wire brushed and treated to allow them to retain the wonderful aged look. As shown in the photos. Antique Gothic Cast Iron Fireplace Andirons - Early 1900's
These beautiful cast iron andirons each measure 19.5" in height by 11" wide on each base. And are about 19.5" deep. They came with a home that was purchased by my friends parents in the 1920's, but the house was built earlier than the 1920's, so these would date to at least the early 1900's if not earlier. They do come unattached as you see in the final image. I do not have the bolts to reattach them, but this is an easy fix and will be much easier for shipment. The andirons are black in color with scuff marks from years of use. They could be re-painted, but I like to leave my items as found. Aside from the missing screws, they are in wonderful condition.

Up for grabs is a pair of antique Adams No. 8 andirons. These measure 16" tall and they are cast iron. The left one has the back bracket broke off. It fits right back into place and could easily have it welded back on. It still stands alone without it. The decorative ball like piece is missing on the left bracket as well. Federal Style Colonial Revival Brass Fireplace Andirons
Here's a wonderful pair of vintage brass Federal Colonial Revival style andirons! They have an urn finial on top. A turn styled center and cabriole legs. They have cast iron firedogs that extend a little over 11" to hold the logs and there's a small urn finial that matches the top one. Each andiron is marked on the bottom"3 KNICK" 106. The right andiron is marked R& the left andiron is marked L. They have a worn antique-patina. I don't feel any nicks nor dents. I see small scratches and they are smooth to the touch. Each andiron measures 16 1/2" long(including the fire dog log setter) and stands 19 3/4" tall.

The log rests are stamped with"Harvin" and"CW 100-1" The andiron is cast brass with solid brass legs and feet. There are scrolls are built into the legs. The feet have eagle claws over spheres. But move freely. Although both surround& andirons were manufactured with an antique satin brass finish, they also have a well worn, natural patina and are believed to be circa 1965. I have for auction this sensationally opulent pair of genuine Napoléon 111 bronze Andirons. They date to C1870s, they are actually Andiron fronts, because the L shaped back supports are missing, these would have been made of iron, because they would have be closest to the open fire, I do not see this as a great problem, they can be easilly replaced and it will certainly have reduced the shipping cost dramatically for you. I have not cleaned the bronze, it is exactly as they were found on the antique market here in the South of France, I understand that some dealers do not like their metalware cleaned, so I have left them with their original wonderful patina and as we say here in France"dans son jus" in their original state, but with cleaning, I imagine they will become much brighter, the choice is yours! A rare find! A matching set of Andirons from the early 1800s made in the USA. Many pairs have been reworked over the years. Look at my pictures to see that they are symmetrical Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE in size and scope. The line where the hollow brass castings were brazed together is vague but still visible. The interior post. Where the top piece is screwed into the bottom, is hand filed. See picture for details. For the pictures. I placed the pair face-to-face to show that the width and spread of the feet are equal. One picture also exhibits the equal height and that billet bars are of equal length and have not been cut down. These andirons are the Beehive Ball Shape with an Acorn finial at the top. They feature a brass plate dressing and brass log stops at the front and cast iron band log stops that are adjustable ... moreat the back. They have spurred cabriole legs and snake feet. They have a nice patina still. Especially around the feet, legs and plinth(the parts that have been closer to the fire. They have a few dings and scratches which only adds character to their presentation. They measure 17 1/2" high X 16" long and the front feet at the slipper foot is 11" wide.

They are not early as the brass is in stacked pieces and the back of the legs are not solid. They have the look without the price of antique andirons. They measure 19 3/4" tall. 7 ... more1/2" across the feet and 18 3/4" deep from front to back. They have wear and manufacturing marks consistent with age and use. 2. Brass and forged iron tongs: These were purchased in 1995 from my favorite dealers at a Massachusetts antique show. The tag said to see Schiffer. Page 256D, circa 1850; I cannot vouch for this info. as I've never seen the book. They are in nice condition. 3. Brass and iron shovel: This is not an exact match to the tongs. but close. Same dealer and assume same age. The shovel does have surface rust. 4. Stoneware. Crockery, pottery pig/foot warmer: The stamp at the bottom is difficult to read, but I can make out Boston, Mass. if this was made by Dorchester Pottery Works. It is in nice condition except an attempt was made to clean it which left some light streaks on the upper end around the cork. All-in-all. These awesome figural cast iron lady andirons are available for purchase. These old architectural forms are lovely in the fireplace. The ladies' are holding a torch and standing in front of an open sea shell. They are very detailed wearing short dresses. The skirt has a side slit. Open and showing a little leg. The torches are very pretty with a twirled tail and full flame. The ladies are wearing crowns and have long hair. They ladies have been painted gold, and it is chipped in places. One of the fire dogs is broken. Other than these things, these andirons are quite lovely and functional. Up for grabs is a pair of cast metal/brass andirons. These measure approximately 19" tall. There is slight age wear. Especially on the brass tops.
