Here is a great piece recently picked up at an estate sale. The image appears to be woven out of some sort of fabric. I am guessing silk. This sort of process is then called a stevenograph. Silk threads were used to weave an image into a piece of cloth, which may also have been silk. This process was done from the 1860s to 1930s. Not sure when this actual piece was done. The image of Lincoln is very eye catching and has a different look depending upon which angle you look at it from. Almost like a holograph. Not sure what the age of this piece is. I have an 11" long. Monster stone tool for sale. This tool was found in Surry Co. NC at a large rock overhang(on private property) It is made of quartzite and has no modern modifications. Quartzite is one of the most important materials used for making stone tools. The book"Understanding Stone Tools& Archaeological Sites, by Brian Kooyman quotes that quartzite can have many forms and colors as well. Many qualities of quartzite can be found here; some can have up to a 98% pure silica content. The Saura Indians used to live in this region of NC. Pre-Columbian Neolithic Celts. Knives and Scrapers from Central Panama This item is a set of Pre-Columbian Neolithic Celts. Knives and scrapers from the Madden Lake region of Central Panama. All five of these artifacts are surface finds from the shore of Madden Lake when it is at its lowest level at the end of the dry season. These artifacts were found by George Chevalier who lived on the Pacific side of the Panama Canal Zone. George hunted for artifacts only in the American jurisdiction of the former Panama Canal Zone. All 5 of these artifacts have identification marks indicating the approximate location of the surface finds. All 5 have the letters" C. Z. M. L. which identify the artifacts as" Canal Zone Madden Lake" Three of the artifacts have the letter" S" with a circle to indicate that these three were all found ... moreat the same location. Two of the artifacts have the letters" R C S" to show that these were found in the same location. There are two celts in this collection. The smaller celt is made out of a layered sedimentary rock or a weathered metamorphic form of volcanic Basalt. This celt has a rough surface texture. One end is ground on both sides to a sharp cutting edge. The second celt was made out of a hard and smooth metamorphic Basalt. One end was ground and polished to a smooth and sharp cutting edge on both sides. Both of these celts are more primitive than most celts found in this region. There are also three lithic tools that can be used as either knives or scrapers. One was made out of Chert or Flint. The second was made out of Quartz or Quartzite. This is a very detailed surface mount light fixture from the 20's. Marked M.L.P. Inc. B 809- Patent 3-29-27. This Art Deco piece. From 1927 made of cast iron was produced by M.L.P. Inc and stamped into the cast iron B 809. The ceiling chandelier, medallion or lamp is triangular in shape. It measures approx 11" from each tip to tip. There are 3 outlets for bulbs. The pattern is quite deep with a heavily raised floral and curly filigree pattern. Delicately painted over the antique cream colored surface. There are several nicks where the paint is worn away.

RARE ANTIQUE LATE 1800'S ELECTRIFIED LEADER ARGAND KEROSENE LAMP
This Auction is for a rare antique late 1800's electrified Leader Argand kerosene lamp in excellent condition for its age. Based on the limited information that I could find while researching this lamp I believe it was made by Bridgeport Brass Works in the late 1800's and was electrified when I received it. The flame control knob on the side of the top section is deeply stamped with the words"LEADER ARGAND" and all metal parts are non-magnetic with the exception of the small plate below the electric socket at the top. The base appears to be cast brass. Or possibly bronze, and the remainder of the metal parts are brass with very nice detail on every section of the metal parts. The main section of the lamp is a muted white smoked glass with yellow hues and an illustration of a beautiful horned owl sitting on a tree branch ... moreand other foliage around the lamp. This lamp would be a beautiful piece with the addition of a period lamp shade or a glass chimney similar to the original chimney. Two of the four original chimney clips are missing but the remaining two are very strong and would certainly be sufficient to hold a chimney in place. There is a lamp shade harp with a solid brass finial included with this lamp. The metal parts can be polished or buffed. If so desired, but I have left it untouched to avoid negatively impacting its natural beauty or value( please see pictures for actual condition of all items and features) All dimensions are as follows: Lamp- 12 1/2" high(excluding the light socket and lamp shade harp) Base- 3" high. 7" in diameter Glass Section- 5 1/2" high. 6" in diameter Top Section- 4" high. 4 1/2" in diameter at the bottom, 3" in diameter at the top Weight- Approximately 5 pounds

tairona tumbaga Stylized Frog
I just bought this Tairona Tumbaga stylized frog from a world traveler last Saturday with two other pieces that I am selling in a separate auction but I illustrate all three of these as picture# 4. Please look at my other sales for these two other pieces. If it is gold it must be very low grade mixed with copper(even though it looks like gold) I tested it for 10K and it did not test positive. All that I know about this was collected from this traveller that was selling all of his household and going to a nursing home. It must be old and this guy had travelled around the world many times around the middle of 1900's. It has a hoop that I believe was later soldered on to it to make it a pendant. It measures about 1.3/4 in. long and 1/8 in wide and about 3/16 in. tall. It weighs 10.7 ounces of whatever low type of gold it is. If gold at all.

This rare find is a flashlight and midget vacuum cleaner all in one. Constructed of a gray heavy duty plastic. The handle holds 2 D cell batteries(not included) and features the flashlight on one side of the head and the vacuum brush on the other. The chrome switch on the handle has three positions: Off, Light and Brush. Both the flashlight and vacuum are in great working order. This retro beauty truly appears to have never been used. The original red and white box features multiple uses on either side for clothes and auto upholstery and does show some age. Has a handy hook on the side for hanging on a workbench or perhaps a belt.
