This listing is for a very fine and antique(c.1750) tall neck vase/ bottle from Persia found in a local Beverly Hills estate. This lovely piece from the Safavid Dynasty sports a lovely design of four panels with blue and green backrounds highlighted with floral/foliate motifs. Glazing sports some crackling commensurate with age. Vase measures approximately 12-1/2" tall x 5" in diameter(top opening is only 1-1/2" diameter) Persian vase is found in very good antique condition and is being offered for a low opening bid and no reserve. This beautiful 17th Century Persian Safavid blue glazed bottle measures 5" tall x 5" wide and contains fanciful animal(dog and bird) and plant motifs. The bottle is in good condition for its age(approx. 350 years old) with some expected repairs to the rim. The gold paint and glazed blue color appear throughout the bottle(although some photos seem as if the motifs are partially dark blue and partially gold. This is a result of the flash and all of the motifs are outlined in gold) Some of the animals and plant motifs are more pronounced than others. Size approximately 11 inches x 7 inches This Safavid-era manuscript consists in a full copy of the Quran with illumination. The colophon states that the work was completed by the scribe'Abd al-Jabbar b. Abd al-Aziz on Wednesday the 22nd of Rajab. 1064(the 8th of June, 1654) Folios 1r and 2v contain fine illumination in gold and lapis lazuli with touches of malachite(light green) and red. The bottom of the second folio seems to have been cut at some point, as its lower margin has been greatly reduced. When the manuscript was placed in its current binding, these first two illuminated folios were unfortunately not aligned properly, which detracts somewhat from the symmetry of the opening pages. The verses ... moreof the Quran are written in naskhi script in black. And an elegant thuluth script in gold is employed for the headings of the surah s. Which are contained within a gold border. The verses are divided by small golden and polychrome rosettes. Catchwords in black naskhi script appear in the bottom left hand corner of the verso side of each folio; their unusual proximity to the lower edge of the folio would suggest that all of the pages of the manuscript have been cut at some point in order. Perhaps, to fit the manuscript into a new European full-leather binding. In addition to the Arabic text of the Quran. This collared bronze vase stands some eight inches(8" in height and has a marvelously well done. Hand chased hunting design motif around the body. While I have dated the piece as early 19th century, I actually believe that it could be considerably older. However, I prefer to err on the side of caution and so will leave it to you to decide for yourself. I do absolutely guarantee that it is no later than the 19th century. There are two damaged areas, both of which are pictured. One of them is a"ding" or a dent, if you prefer) while the other is a split that has been closed with a line of solder. Museum quality 17th Century Persian Safavid blue glazed bottle/ pottery/ vase for collector of Safavid or Ancient Persian art measures 5" tall x 5" wide and contains fanciful animal(dog and bird) and plant motifs. The bottle is in good condition for its age(approx. 350 years old) with some expected repairs to the rim. The gold paint and glazed blue color appear throughout the bottle(although some photos seem as if the motifs are partially dark blue and partially gold.
