Nice viking battle axe!
As you can see in the pictures i offer you this nice looking original viking axe! It is from an old private collection. But it wasnt cleaned before just sightly. The axe is in normal condition, but it will need some cleaning, if anyone want to make a better piece from it. The axe hasn't got any injury, it is unharmed. The axe was made between 800-1000 AD! I suggest it could be great for both collectors both history lovers. It is a really nice viking relic from the dark ages. The item is 18 centimeters long. 8 centimeters tall at the edge and 6 centimetes tall at the shaft holes end. It's blade is 3 centimeters thick at the widest point. Antique Fireman's / Firefighter's Axe, Viking Style ca. late 1800's - early 1900
Offered for auction is an antique Viking style Fireman's axe c. late 1800's to early 1900's. This was probably a parade axe by the way the cast iron head is painted. Black in the middle& silver on the edges. Wooden handle is made of a light wood that probably would not take actual firefighting activity. Cast iron head is in great condition with paint showing its age. Handle is original, but it is loose(not broken. just lost its wedges) Overall length is 31" Head is 10 1/2" from tip of spike to edge of blade. Blade is 8 3/4" from tip to tip. This authentic“Viking Style” Fireman’s Axe is in original untouched condition. The 13 ¾” long by 8 ¾” wide axe head is typical, but the oak handle is unique. Still retaining the original black paint this hand measures 31 ¾” long. Just above the butt of the handle are hand carved finger grips. Next is a band of carved rings above that is a raised carved monogram that looks like PY or YP. This 19 th century Parade Fireman’s Axe is in perfect condition with no restorations. VERY unusual. If you're looking for something completely different- this is it. How cool is this! An Axe pendant. Hand crafted. Bezel set gem stone. This is vintage. It has been cleaned recently so it doesn't have much of a patina. Made of polished silver and it does have tiny scratches just from being a polished piece that's been worn and loved. This piece is not perfect, but it a great item and it is in very good condition. This is between 1.76-1.77 on the index which means it could be a Ruby. A Rhodalite, or a Garnet. I lean towards a Rhodalite because of the color- it's a deep red-ish pink-ish gem. I don't know if this is a natural gem stone or if it's a well made man made gem. In the 1st pic it looks brighter because of the flash. Slightly over 1.75" tall. Light weight. Shown here with a US Quarter for size ... morereference- not incl. Hi and thanks for looking at this custom made vintage Viking styled Bearded Battle Axe. The Circa 1930 carbon steel head is in excellent condition with no defects. It has been custom shaped by myself, cleaned and polished to make the lovely patina pop against the polished steel. The bit has been given an arm hair popping cutting edge sharp enough to slice paper! The ergonomic handle is custom hand shaped from seasoned Ash with a nice straight end grain. Naturally coloured, treated with Teak Oil and Beeswax for a nice shine and sure grip then fixed with a wooden and steel wedge. Dimensions: Poll to bit- 5 1/2" 140mm Cutting edge- 3 3/4" 95mm Handle Length- 14 1/2" 370mm Weight- 1lb 2.5oz/ 525gm Excellent side balance and even weight make it very comfortable to use.
