As the wood feels and appears to be on its way to petrification. It now feels like a hard wood. Handle shape somewhat like a walking stick handle. With that angle of curve. It is a deity. Where it has been sculpted where the head and eyebrows run right into the nose. Wide and well defined moustache and beard. Its mouth wide open with tongue hanging out. It is in very good condition overall. The carved whittled lines are still crisp, yet as with all antique wood sculptures, the image gradually starts to fade into the ... morebackground wood. It is beautiful now. And must have been exceptional when first made. Origin unknown to me. However, it was found here in the Hudson River Valley of New York. The figure dates back to Circa 150 B.C. to 900 A.D. and has it`s origin from South-West Colombia. Probably from the"Tierradentro" culture. The core of the mask is made of a copper-gold alloy. Then gilded with a thin layer of tumbaga gold. With clearly shaped eyes. Small nose and mouth by repoussé technique. The hair dress and clothing is accentuated with wired lines. Wired lines are placed on top of the figure and applied before the gilded process. Figure posed with stretched arms. The most characteristic thing for this figure is the powerful looking facial expression. CATALOGUE NOTES Gold& Tumbaga Gold Tumbaga was the name given by Spaniards to a non-specific alloy of gold and copper which they found in widespread use in Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. Tumbaga is an alloy comprised mostly of gold and copper. It has a significantly lower melting point than gold or copper alone. It is harder than copper. Antiquity Cute little figure Panama poss Macaracas substyle
A really cute little figure from ancient Panama. He appears to be on his knees with something held to his mouth. I thought it was an arm but it attaches very far back and there is another one left side that comes around and up over the front of the head. Of course if it's a shaman in transformation then actual anatomy might not mean much. The mouth and eyes are incised. There is some attempt at what we would call a Roman or Greek Key design.It measures 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 by 2 inches deep. The figure is quite heavy. Hollow with a large opening at the bottom to keep it from exploding in firing. Please ask questions or request more pictures before bidding as I will only allow returns on this piece if there is a gross error in the description. This has been in my private collection for a long time. It was recently offered in a New York auction ... morehouse as authentic. The reserve was. I thought, too high and it failed to sell so I am offering it here. Ancient Pre Columbian Nayarit Painted Pottery Warrior Figure - 100 BC
An ancient pre-Columbian Nayarit figure of a warrior. Dating to the proto-Classic period, 100 BC- 250 AD. A long serpent-like face. Grinning through the fleshy lips, with a set of prominent teeth and the eyes set impossibly wide on the head– there is something discordant, even monstrous about this figure. Each component seems at odds with the other; be it the gaunt expression with the broad muscular torso or the thick-set legs with the emaciated arms. Yet to dismiss the art of the Nayarit as unaccomplished is to miss its purpose; these figures were never meant to be beautiful, they were meant to convey a sense of power. Standing on claw-like feet, brandishing a short knife and decorated with a deep ochre pigment, this warrior has an undeniable energy, an energy that seems to bleed from the clay itself. Nayarit figures form part of the mysterious ... moreshaft tomb culture of ancient western Mexico. Displaying all aspects of ancient life, from ritual ceremonies to grand feasts, warriors to simple family scenes. Little is known about ancient Nayarit life beyond these enigmatic figures and the society itself remains a mystery. The discordant facial expressions of figures such as this have in some quarters been advanced as evidence of shamanism. THIS ITEM IS ONE OF A KIND. EARLY AMERICAN RADIO& CABINET This piece of furniture was built by a cabinet maker who came from Italy to America in the early 1900, this person was my wife’s Grandfather. He built this Cabinet and added a 12 tube Zenith-Long Distant Radio Model# R250836 and added a Gilbert clock on top, the year that this was built was somewhere between 1938/1939?His name was George Rossi His initials G.R. are on the clocks hour and second hands, the cabinet by itself is 32” wide and 16” deep and stands 47-1/2” Inches high without the clock. The clock is separate and sits On top of the cabinet, it is 33’ Wide and 21-1/2 inches high. Total height of cabinet with clock on top is 63” The cabinet has three hidden doors to it, and there are two People ballroom dancing on either side carved into the wood With a black man playing ... morea Banjo in the center. The Material used in making this Cabinet is either oak or maple the Speaker for this Radio look’s like a giant beehive of Spun wire, the cabinet is in great shape considering its over 75 years, the radio need a little work stations go in and out when on, the Clock needs to be worked on, I think it is wound too tight. This piece does not have any restoration done to it, it is in its original state as in the first day it was built. This piece was inherited, it came from my wife’s Father’s estate in 1985, my wife passed away in 2007 and now I inherited it. I would like to either sell or auction it off to the Highest bidder, do not have any ideal what the value would be, was offer $1500.00 for it by a Radio collector but I think it has more value as a one of a kind item. I’m in my 70’s and don’t have the time or Space to give it the care it deserve.

Leonard Super Deluxe Fridge/Freezer. It works very well. The light inside works and the rubber seal on the door is still good. It has a scape on the door as well as some marks on the top where something sat for a long time. There are two spots on the left hand side that looks like some emblems or something of that sort are missing. It is in good overall condition and does a better job of keeping things cold than my new fridge.
