Dickinson School of Law Fraternity Paddle, Antique Attorney Legal Vintage
Dickinson School of Law- Fraternity Paddle. 1926-28, Sigma Alpha Epsilon(SAE) Greek fraternity paddle from EAE at Dickinson Law School. Has the years 1926-1928 on it. Some great caricature pictures and lots of brothers' signatures on it as well. Cleaned up well with orange and tung oil. No cracks or splits. What a great collectible piece. From the Dickinson SAE site- History of the Pennsylvannia Sigma-Phi Chapter The Pennsylvania Sigma-Phi Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon was established at Dickinson College on October 11. 1890. Chester N. Ames, along with the help of a few other founding members, established the Chapter. Other existing fraternities on campus at that time included Phi Kappa Sigma and Phi Kappa Psi. The members of SAE were involved on campus with clubs such as Belle Lettres Literary Society and were in honorary societies ... moresuch as Phi Beta Kappa. Today, as was back then, the brothers are also involved in The Dickinsonian, a cappella singing groups, baseball, soccer, the Student Senate, among many other organizations. Also of note, in 1990, the Chapter celebrated it’s centennial– one hundred successful years- at Dickinson College. In October 1986, SAE was the first fraternity on campus to experiment in“Dry Rush. Today, this system has been implemented by the entire Greek system at the college. The Chapter has lived in various houses in Carlisle over the years. In 1900. The Chapter purchased their first house, a three-story building located just off the northeast corner of West and Louther streets. Throughout the early-1900’s they also lived in the eastern section of East College and a large Victorian house located on the corner of College and Louther streets. In 1946, they moved into a house on S. College Street. Later, in 1964, they lived in Quad 5(now Baird McClintock Hall) From 1981 to 1990, they lived in Biddle House. Following that t hey lived in 424 W. Louther Street. Which was later the house of the Theta Chi fraternity. Currently, the house is located at 527 W. Louther Street. The pad
Rogers Group; John Rogers; "The Wounded Scout"; 1864
Listing tonight an example of"The Wounded Scout" by John Rogers dated 1864. This statue has had several recasting of molded parts reproduced by a professional sculptor ready for finishing molding then blending paint. 1. soldier's hand. 2. tip of sword. 3. snake on ground. 4. Black man's right wrist area. A small area near the soldier's left boot has a small piece missing as well no recasting available for that piece. This group does not appear to have the original paint but I was told by a Rogers expert it's probably a very early casting as the detail is very crisp as evidence in the soldier's vascularity in his right arm. This auction is being sold"as is" without refund or return so please ask any and all questions prior to bidding. Pick-up only on this group in Worcester. Massachusetts 01602. Posted ... morewith

PRECOLUMBIAN PARACAS NAZCA MOCHE CHIMU MAYAN AZTEC PERUVIAN TEXTILE TROPHY HEADS
Paracas textiles are among the rarest and most desirable of all Precolumbian textiles. Rivalled, perhaps, only by the finest Wari slit tapestries and some early Nazca pieces. This fragment is complete in itself, and would have formed part of the central field of a large mantle. This particular textile is from the Paracas Cavernas culture, as opposed to the Necropolis. Generally, the Cavernas pieces are considered to be the oldest of all Paracas textiles, dated generally to circa 400-200BC. This example shows a stylized feline adorned with several trophy heads. It is in exceptional condition and comes from an old New England collection. No staining and no repairs. It measures 3-1/4" X 2-7/8" not including the small bits of background cloth that would have separated each figure in the central field. Loose in the frame with no adhesive ... morewhatsoever and, as noted, no salt staining. The colors are deep and vibrant, better than the photos. A frame will be included with the purchase price. Ideal for one's desk. Shipping and handling in the US is $18; overseas will vary. As with every item I sell, authenticity is absolutely guaranteed. PLEASE NOTE: I SELL AND SHIP WORLDWIDE.

Authentic Nursery Originals wood Lamp with boy in tomato and boy spinning
This vintage children lamp is unique it's not easy to come by on the web and only a few of them are ORIGINAL PIECES. Made by Nursery Originals. This wood lamp has a night light that shines through to tomato, and a music box when you twist the boy. This children's lamp would look great in a child's room. There is a small hole in front of tomato where I think a little bird went but I saw a few online that was made by the same company and same brand and they didn't have anything in the whole either but I'm not 100% sure. I saw one but that one was painted and looked like a fake. the Lamp measures 12 inches tall and the bulb doesn't come with it also the bulb in the tomato works. there are no international shipping, returns and once payment clears your item will be shipped immediately. ARTEMIS GALLERY Moche Jaguar Stirrup Vessel with Conch Shell
Moche Jaguar Stirrup Vessel with Conch Shell Click on these links to view larger photos: 1- 2- 3- 4 Pre-Columbian. North Coast Peru, Moche III, ca. 300-400 CE. The jaguar symbolized power and might throughout the Pre-Columbian world. Warriors, rulers, hunters, and shamans alike associated themselves with this king of beasts, the largest and most powerful feline in the New World. The principal Moche god wears a headdress adorned with a jaguar head and paws and important mortals donned similar headdresses. A nocturnal animal, the jaguar sleeps in caves and dark places and creeps quietly in the forest, evoking great mystery. Oddly enough, few Moche artists would have actually scene jaguars as they are not indigenous to the coast. Jaguars prefer moist forest conditions. However, scholars believe that some cubs were transported over the mountains ... morefor Moche rituals and it is also possible that some jaguars wandered down the coast. The animated visage and exaggerated ears and paws suggest that the artist who created this vessel may not have been working to achieve naturalistic representation but rather to evoke the powerful symbolism of the jaguar. Juxtaposing the animal with a conch shell is characteristic of the Moche. Not only did the jaguar climb trees, it also swam in streams, and the Moche were quite taken with the jaguar's ability to swiftly move between one world and another. Minor surface wear. Bichrome finish appears excellent. Intact and near choice! 10"W x 8-1/4"H x 6"D PROVENANCE: Ex-Splendors of the World. Pre-Columbian HEAD Vessel Moche PERU Dig Guaranteed Authentic approx. 700 AD
Pre-Columbian HEAD Vessel Moche PERU Dig Guaranteed Authentic approx. 700 AD Recently I was able to obtain several pieces of authentic pre-Columbian pottery and artifacts from ancient civilizations including the Mayan. Incan, Nazca, Aztec, and Central American cultures, all from one individual’s upscale collection. Up for auction is this very cool Vessel. It is a fat rotund HEAD Vessel attributed to the Moche Civilization during the late classic period. 700AD-850AD. It came from a pre WWII dig and has been off the market until now. The piece shows a head at the top in a very strange expression. Almost like he is in pain. He has a very flat head and piercing eyes his mouth is either smirking or showing stress. His ears pop out the sides of his head. There is a tiny hole in the neck and it looks like a tracheotomy to me, maybe that’s why he ... moreis in pain? In his belly is a wide mouth to fill the vessel with water or blood or whatever this was used for. The front is all red and the reverse seems white, but it could just be the dirt that has adhered to the surface causing the whitish look. The piece is bulbous and measures 9” TALL and is about 7” at its widest. It is unusually lightweight and the walls are thin. The vessel is delicate. The bottom is shaped like a football and it is not meant to stand upright. There are surface stains and some very minor surface spotting. This is an extremely old piece and quite interesting and BIG piece. The dating. pre-Columbian naked penis Ritual fertility Figure wTL test Doc! Ceramic pottery
WOW for this Offer! A rarity among the pre-Columbian ceramics is this naked male fertility figure. One can very well recognize the typical characteristics of Vicus. The figure wears a headdress with temple stairs as an ornament and face tattoos on his left cheek. The eyes are closed; there is probably a priest or warrior. Chippings on the spout. Scratches and minor age-related crashes, on the back is a hole. Such a great and rare figure I had just got in my hands. Rarely offered-rare to get! See the price inclusive the lab test. Unbeatable! Culture: Vicus. 100-600AD Price Offers welcome! Age: 1500 years old. TL tested, new Test Document 2014 inclusive! Pair of antique Mexican village specific terracotta artifacts, rare combination
This is a unique set of two very old pottery post Pre Columbian pottery vessels made in the same region in a small village in Mexico. I bought the larger bowl first thinking it was Peruvian. And had it looked at. After some research, I found a dealer in Pre Columbian antiquities who recognized the distinct coffee bean pattern. He had travelled throughout Mexico. It belongs to a small village or town in Mexico. Many villages will make a specific design or pattern over years so that you can tell by the pattern where many items of pottery originate and came from. This is old but not ancient. Possibly 150-200 years old. I do not know the region. I bought the bowl piece and then later by coincidence found the smaller one online separately from the first and was struck by the same pattern on both of them. It was interesting to come on the second ... moreas I haven't seen this design.
