Indian Artifact Figure rain god Pre Columbian? Antique Pottery RARE!!
Hello and Welcome to my Auctions! Today we have a really rare find. Up for your Consideration is a rare piece. The reason it is Rare is we do not know its History or origin. This Sculpture is possibly Pre Columbian and is very similar to those items. This figure came from an Estate. Bought as an Artifact of Indian Decent, which Indian we do not know. It measures 13 inches tall and 6 inches wide at its widest point. This item is possibly Terracotta or Tesucue with orange pigments. I believe this sculpture to be similar to Pre Columbian rain god figures. The sculpture shows signs of wear from age along with different shades of orange, tan, brown, and gold. This is a really cute Pre Columbian terracotta figure from the Jalisco culture in one of West Mexico's tomb tradition culture of a little guy appearing to be thinking. A pensador. Great markings and has real character for such a small guy but it is hard not to get caught up looking at him. Lots of manganese deposits and a real bonus for the collector as it is really an unusual piece. Obviously buried for a long time from the deposits so I guess he had time to think. This wonderful antique or vintage German Hide Covered Rocking Horse is 43 inches length(not incl tail) x 51 inches height from the ground. Stands on a metal wheeled platform 42 inches length. Pre-Columbian Colima style pottery figure. These came out of an estate of a avid collector of artifacts. Primitives, tribal art, ethnic& cultural art, etc. Appears to have some authentic age to it, it is definitely vintage, but I don't know the precise age. Used condition. Good condition. Has wear. Has some chips. Has some adhesive residue on the base from a previous owner. No repairs or restorations. Approximate measurements: 3.8" tall X 3" deep X 2.4" wide.

Very Cool Replica Pre-Columbian Sculpted Face Pottery South America
This is a very cool replica Pre-Columbian pot from South America. It has a sculpted nose and mouth on each side. Eyes that are also running figures, and an impressive design all the way around. Measures 5 1/2" T X 7 1/2" at rim of pot. The pot is in very nice condition other than fading of designs and rubbing of slip(see photos) There is one small area at the very rim above the face on one side that may have been repaired. Right on the rim an area of about an inch feels rougher than the rest and is a little whiter. The inside from this is darker than the rest of the pot. It is hard for me to tell but the exterior of the pot has not been changed in any way.

Eating her hand. Other hand has been eaten, foot has been eaten. Face is gouged and scarred from mutilation. Just a terrible depiction of self mutilation and manic depressiveness. Stands 4" tall. I don't see any glued on parts so what you see is what you'll receive. This very rare figura is from the Xochipala culture. Guererro, Mexico. She dates approximately 500 BC. The figure measures approximately 7 1/2 inches tall x 3 1/2 inches wide x 2 inches deep. Both arms appear to have been broken and professionally repaired and the toes on one foot are missing(see photo) However, for its age, the figura is in excellent condition. The figura was purchased from a reputable dealer of Pre-Columbian art in 1986.

Rattling Spider Legged Chupicuaro Redware Bowl circa 300-100 B.C This spider legged bowl has a fine glossy look and it's legs still have the pellets that allow them to rattle. This piece comes from Guanajuato. Mexico and dates to between 300 and 100 B.C. There are fine slits in the legs and it has a ribbed or fluted rim that also adds character. On the bottom of this bowl there is a large mineral stain or smoke cloud, this bowl has two small nicks in the fine red exterior surface near the rim, and there are minor encrustations on the bowl ~ otherwise this bowl in good condition. A really nice smoothly finished Chupicuaro olla shapped Pre Columbian terracotta vessel with a flared rim. Rim has three small fluted designs protruding out and there are two hanging holes on both sides so it might hang. Over fire. As décor, funeral? What I really like about this is the variations in the glazing with either smoke clouds or other unevenness that gives it a really eye catching patina and color. nice solid piece and it has good form. ITEM: Very old Pre-Columbian Mayan or possibly Aztec polychrome pottery figural rattle in the shape of a styled skeleton face head. Possibly for a Day of the Dead celebration. The figure has its original hole on the teeth where the material would have been placed inside the hollow figure to make the rattle. This looks like it could have originall been part of a larger pottery piece that was broken off, possibly a foot to a large bowl. SIZE: Approximately 2 3/4" tall x 2 1/8" across x 2 3/4" deep CONDITION: The pottery head has some flake chips and wear to the glaze from age and use. It still rattles and it is a dull rattle. Pre-Columbian Chimu Polychrome Vessel The actual vessel you will receive is shown in the photos. It is a small Chimu polychrome vessel from Peru dating 1100-1450 AD. It has a rounded body. Flat base, small loop handle and stands approximately 3 1/4" tall. It's short neck has a flared rim and there is red and black decoration over a tan clay.
