This is a stunning and large novelty dish in the form of a Viking longboat made by the master enameller. David Andersen. The dish is in the form of a Viking longboat with stunning plique a jour enamel in different colours and within fine silver gilt framework. The quality of the enamel is exceptional. The boat is large. It is 7 inches/ 178 mm wide and 3-1/4 inches/ 82 mm deep. It stands 4-7/8 inches/ 125 mm high and weighs 134 grams. The silver has clear 925 mark and David Andersen maker's mark. This is the first of the lot. This is a simple tie clasp with a Viking ship on it. It needs polishing. It has a golden tint to it so may be gold plated(ie vermeil) But it's hard to tell with the tarnish, and we don't clean antiques, that's up to the buyer. It is about 2 1/3 inches long and weighs 6.6 grams.
