First decent Antiques warehouse I have come across in Laos with a varied range of Antiques from all over Asia, the dealer reckoned about 100 yrs old and is in excellent condition ... morewith no damage or cracks. Northern Thailand is known as Thailand's center for ceramics. Once thick with forests. It is here where white clay is heat- resistant and, mixed in the right consistency, has a fine texture that makes it ideal for making terracotta and glazed ceramics. The area was once occupied by the ancient Lanna Empire. Which spread over Chiang Mai, Lampang, Lamphun and Phayao. Tucked comfortably in a valley. Chiang Mai- Lamphun and Chiang Rai- Phayao represented the two main plateaux of the empire. Vintage Terracotta 2 Senoritas and Pot
I found these peices at an estate sell in a gorgeous victorian home. Not something I normally find at these.but their quality caught my eye. The Senoritas are heavy. The one in orange has several faint markings I cannot make out. She measures 6 1/2" tall and 5" at her widest part. The Senorita leaning on the gold urn looks hand sculpted. Her fingers are large and boxy in shape. The part in her hair is very distinct with what looks to be an edged tool, her shawl is textured.She measure 6" long x 5 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide. The pot measures 2 1/16" x 2" diameter is just that a little terracotta pot with a handle. It came from the home with the Senoiritas and was demanded I keep them together not sure why. Posted with

Here is a charming vintage terracotta display pitcher. It is hand painted and the outside is glazed in what is undoubtedly a lead glaze. The inside is un-glazed. I found the accompanying brochure tucked inside. I had a heck of a time getting it out and will include it with the pitcher. Just not tucked inside! The style of the brochure and the age of the paper lead me to believe that it is probably from the 1940-60's. It stands 11 3/4" tall and is 9" in diameter. A nice piece! Vintage Ivory & Terracotta Cameo set in a Delicate Gold Fill Heart Filigree Pin
This is a vintage ivory and light hints of terracotta colored cameo. I took detailed pics of the stone and It doesn't feel like plastic. The pin setting is very light weight and delicate with a heart shape filigree pattern. I can't find a gold marking. So I'm guessing it is a gold fill. There was an etching(which looks hand done) that I took a close up shot of, but still can not make out what it says. Please see pics for condition of piece.

In my opinion a most interesting example of c 3000 bc INDUS VALLEY. HAND MADE POTTERY: A VERY FINE VOTIVE BULL FIGURE, WITH LARGE HORNS, TRADITIONAL"HUMP" BACK AND TAIL. This examplke has an unusual almost"salt glazed" feel, with a veined, irregular texture to the body of the bull: you will see from the pictures that the colour is a mixture of browns, red-browns. The figure obviously is an interesting reference example. I bought this from an Antiquity dealer at Bartlet Street Antiques Centre, Bath, in the late 1990's. The item is in fine reference order. Both horns have been rstored. With breaks to both, there is also a small amount of slice fritting/nibble chipping to the hump of the bull. No restoration or further damage.Combined postage offered. Superb Antique Glazed Terracotta Platter Floral 19th century Turkestan A large antique Turkestan polychrome glazed terracotta platter decorated with an impressive floral and leaf design. Such pieces would have formed part of a home's traditional Turkestan tableware; stylistic influence from the Orient. Notably China are very obvious in some pieces and this, as early as the 9th century. Shaped on a very basic potter's wheel. The wares are then glazed and fired in a traditional kiln. The firing is done on a tripod and as a result three visible marks where the glaze is absent are visible at the center of the plate.
