A rare ancient Celtic bronze attachment depicting a wild boar's head. Dating to approximately 50 B.C. 50 A.D. The creature shown in typical Celtic. Abstract form, with thin snout, almond shaped eyes and wide horns. The loop at the top and the two bronze rivets suggest that the piece was originally attached to a casket or other large vessel. So-called Celtic art reflects the indigenous tastes of those peoples who inhabited the lands conquered by the Romans around Western and Northern Europe.
