GJPaw Auctions is pleased to offer a fine antique Pre-Columbian ceramic blackware stirrup spout Vessel with Figure. From the Chimú culture. Peru. ... moreThe Chimú culture arose around 900 A.D. on the northern coast of Peru in a large adobe city in the Moche Valley. And was conquered by the Incas in 1470 AD. They are best known for their distinctive monochromatic pottery and fine metal work. The main types of Chimú ceramics are small sculptures, manufactured molded and shaped pottery for daily use and those made for ceremonial use for offerings at burials. The pottery is often in the shape of a creature. Or has a human figure sitting or standing on a cuboid bottle. The shiny black finish of most Chimú pottery was achieved by firing the pottery at high temperatures in a closed kiln, which prevented oxygen from reacting with the clay. This beautiful molded stirrup vessel measures 5 inches in width by 4 inches in depth by 7 inches in height(12.7 cm by 10.1 by 17.7 cm) The figure shows wear consistent with use and a Pre-Columbian dating. But generally is in very good condition. It is guaranteed authentic and would make a superb addition to any collection of Pre-Columbian ceramics. GJPaw Auctions has been in the Art business for over 25 years and is now expanding its operation to eBay. Our goal is to bring the same experience and excitement of collecting that we have been delivering in-person to collectors across the Globe at Primitive in Chicago. Every object we sell online has been carefully hand-selected with special attention to detail. Quality, and significance. We ship worldwide. PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR AUTHENTIC POTTERY FRAGMENT FEMALE JAMACOAQUE 500BC-200AD
PRE COLUMBIAN ECUADOR AUTHENTIC JAMACOAQUE FRAGMENT This is a authentic Pre Columbian pottery female fragment from Ecuador. Jamacoaque culture 500 B.C. 1000 A.D. from a private collection. It is a bit over 5 1/2' tall and 3" across the shoulders. The face itself is 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 The burnished and glossy areas would represent skin. The head has well defined ear ornaments, nose, nose ring and eyes. A large necklace is around the neck and the bands on the arms seem to be bracelets. The figure has been displayed on a lucite base and also upright for photographs as it will not stand by itself. It is completely hollow. All damage is pictured. Partial headdress and partial loss of hands mostly the right. It has an old repair with 2 pieces glued. The entire right arm section is one piece from the front to back and a second smaller piece connects ... morethat one and to the other side. The sections fit together rather well with the cracks lining up with no major gaps a little under the right ear. The remaining figure is one piece and not broken. All cracks and repairs are pictured. The back is completely smooth with no raised decoration. Debris has not been removed but seems to flake off with handling and a soft brush would remove more if desired. This figure could be repaired professionally and cleaned but I have left it as is. Not museum quality but a relatively nice piece for the beginning collector or for restoration. 3c0.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Feog4d71f%2B%3E3c0-14bca579a9b-0x116-

2 Valdivia Venus Figures Ancient Pottery Artifacts Pre-Columbian Ecuador NR
Hi. I 2 very ancient Valdivia Venus figures for auction. These Valdivia figures are among some of the oldest in pre-columbian and South American history. The Valdivian Culture wasn't even discovered until the mid 1950's. Considering that their culture dates from 3500-1800, it's amazing that no one knew about them until 50 years ago. These are small but detailed little beauties. Some archaeologists think that each one was made to specifically represent someone. I purchased these about 10 years ago from an old collection. They are guaranteed ancient. I use the half dollar for size comparison only and it is not included in this auction. I can combine shipping. Thanks for looking.

Hi. I have a great Valdivia Pregnant woman figure for auction. This small figure is extremely old. Archaeologists can't seem to agree on dates for this ancient culture. Dates vary from 3500-1800 BC. Massive Jalisco Ancient Pottery Artifact Pre-Columbian Shaft Tomb NR
Hi. I have a massive Jalisco seated female figure for auction. This is an absolutely huge ancient artifact, it's 16 1/2" High! It is from western Mexico, Shaft Tomb Culture, Proto-Classic Period 200BC-300AD. This is an"Ameca" Type figure. It is a hollow buff clay figure seated with arms outstretched to sides. She is wearing a headdress with tails hanging down from her head in back. She also has a nose ring, and pellet like applications on her shoulders. She is holding an offering bowl on her left shoulder.with contents in the bowl. There are vent holes in each ear. This huge pottery artifact had a European restoration with repaired pieces and new clay. The repairs blend in and aren't noticed much because of the sheer size of it. This huge female statue could be the centerpoint of any collection. There aren't many ... moreavailable with this size. I used a full size Coke can for size reference. This great artifact will be shipped with insurance. Thanks for looking.
Awesome Mayan Whistle Rattle Pre-Columbian Pottery Ancient Artifact NR
Hi. I have a nice Mayan rattle whistle figure for auction. This great rattle whistle still whistles great and the rattles still work. This figure represents a Mayan Shaman with a dead persons head as a headdress. The eyes of the headdress are crossed out meaning it's dead. This Mayan Shaman has ear spools and a pectoral. Many ancient Pre-Columbian cultures thought that when they conquered another tribe, that if they wore body parts of the rulers and best warriors, that they were taking their power unto them. It has an old repair to the head, but it doesn't effect the whistle or rattle. All the items I sell are guaranteed as described, or you can return it for your money back. This would have enabled the mass production of certain ... moreforms. But Moche ceramics vary widely in shape and theme. With most important social activities documented in pottery, including war, metalwork, weaving and sex. Traditional north coast Peruvian ceramic art uses a limited palette. Relying primarily on red and white; fineline painting, fully modeled clay, veristic figures, and stirrup spouts. Moche ceramics created between 150–800 AD epitomize this style. Moche pots have been found not just at major north coast archaeological sites, such as Huaca de la luna, Huaca del sol, and Sipan, but also at small villages and unrecorded burial sites as well. At least 500 Moche ceramics have sexual themes. The most frequently depicted act is anal sex. With scenes of vaginal penetration being very rare. Most pairs are heterosexual, with carefully carved genitalia to show that the anus, rather than the vagina, is being penetrated. Often, an infant is depicted breastfeeding while the couple has sex. Fellatio is sometimes represented, but cunnilingus is absent. Some depict male skeletons masturbating, or being masturbated by living women.
