I am offering up for sale and bid. An unusual Mayan Head that is both a small pot/container and a bead/totem that can be strung/hung. These are very rare and seldom for sale. Originally from Central America, this piece was part of a huge mid-western collection. It is 1 3/4" wide, 1 5/8" tall, with a 1" opening, and with two drill holes to allow hanging. There is no reserve.

This item is quite a mystery to me since I can not find any hallmarks or maker's marks. The only marking I see is a"V C" monogram near the top brim. The goblet looks more like sterling silver(or another high silver content alloy) than silver plate. But I can not be sure. I would assume it is a souvenir item from Mexico or Central America. Measures about 5.25 inches tall, diameter is just shy of 2.5 inches. Weight is about 2.5 oz on a postal scale. Good Condition: A few minor scratches and light tarnish throughout. Stone Carved Figure- Mayan Subject H: 13 1/2" x 6 3/4" x 2 1/4" This was given to me many years ago by a friend from Honduras. The age and authenticity are unknown. Large Clay Mayan Fertility Effigy - Phallic - Meso-American - Penis - Pottery
This large. 14 inch, Meso-American clay effigy, complete with phallic endowment, represents a Mayan Fertility Deity. There have been some glued areas and fragments broken off. Overall, I would consider him to be in very good condition. Ancient Mayan 3 Effigy Clay Ceremonial Vessel - Meso-American
This 7" clay Meso-American ceremonial vessel depicts 3 joined effigies and is believed to be of Mayan origin. Interesting subject matter consists of 3 figures covering their eyes. Ears and mouth- the cultural significance of which is unknown to me. This is an authentic, ancient artifact which has had the base part of the vessel broken off over the ages and that base has been reconstructed with newer clay. There have also been other small, original clay pieces broken off and re-glued. Good overall condition for an authentic clay artifact which has been restored. See photos. Mayan reproduction polychrome earthenware cup footed pedestal chalice
I do not know the age or origin of this piece. But it is most likely a more modern reporduction. It stands just over 4.5" tall, is about 3 5/8" diameter at the top and 3 1/8" on the bottom. It has an uneven shape and I don't believe it was done on a wheel. It resembles a chalice but I am not able to find a comparably shaped Mayan style piece. Look closely at the pictures to decide for yourself. It does have a hairline crack about an inch long on the inside and outside just to the right of the smaller painted male figure. Mid Century Modern Chrome metal octagon coffee table Mayan/ Baughman style
This is a stunning sculptural coffee table in the style of Paul Mayan and Milo Baughman from the mid century. It is unmarked but looks like a pyramid base of Paul Mayan's which you can find on 1st Dibs. It has flat stacked chrome plated steel bars which are strong and sturdy(screwed not welded) with some age appropriate marks. as seen in the picture) It is part of the patina and very unnoticeable unless close up. The face mask shows a parrot. In Copan Honduras was the parrot the sign of the ball game, the holy game of the Maya world. It is quite possible that this represented the protector and decision of life and death at the ball game and the whistle is part of the ritual. As in Copan several of these pipes have been found.
