ITEM CONDITION: Good condition overall. Front viewing surface is in great condition with no cracks. Chips, or major scratches. There may be some fine scratches that went unnoticed by me but it would be very minor. Back side of mask has two cracks which do not go through to the front and the mask is structurally solid. Hi There- This is a gorgeous tapestry. Being fairly large at approx. 29 1/2 inches long, and about 22 inches wide. The detail is incredible, it is soft and I think it is Alpaca, but I'm not 100% it's surely some kind of wool. Again, it's pretty soft and the detailed features of the people really show well. It would look great framed, or hung as is. It really would NOT be good for a blanket, but could also be laid over the bed or couch as extra decoration. There are no loose threads. Handsome vintage hand-carved and hand-painted bat from Mexico. This was created for use at a fiesta to bring down the pinata's goodies. All of the designs are etched into it; some are then painted as well. The central figure is a Mayan warrior with a headdress. Club, and shield going into battle in a jungle setting. It even has elements of petatillo pottery. Which is unusual. This is the upper-mid-size bat at 23" long and 2.5" in diameter. In excellent condition; I can find only a couple of small rubs/abrasions on it. The patina is superb. And the colors are rich and vibrant. There is a very slight chance this might ship at a lower rate as it's right on the line; if so. I will immediately refund the difference upon shipping. They say it's hundreds of years old. The clay is light brownish black and for the size, abnormally light in weight, and they believe it was probably sun dried not oven fired. The clay is porous and as I said, lightweight. I can't discern if the gods and people on it are Mayan or Aztec or maybe even Guatemalan. It's 11" tall. Yes, there is a chip on the lip, I bought it that way. It could be worth $50 or $12,000 depending on the true age and original source of the pitcher or vase. It borders between weird and creepy and kinda cool. Stored in smoke free environment and no animals. We sell items like this AS IS and do not guarantee individual items in a bulk ... morelot. There are no tags or lineage to identify this piece. But it does seem a little old. The top edge of the piece is quite dusty and needs cleaning. The red felt on the back side also looks old. I have only noticed 2 flaws in this piece. There is a small piece of the edge that was chipped off at about the 9 o'clock position.
