Vintage Two-Sided Sterling Silver Mexico Aztec Mayan Calendar Pendant Necklace
Measuring approximately 1 3/16" across. This vintage Mexican medallion comes with a 24" oval link chain. The 3 mm thick silver pendant depicts an Aztec calendar on the front side, in relief) and an engraved pyramid with mountains on the back side. The soldered bail is stamped: HECHO EN MEXICO DF with the side profile of an eagle head and. What appears to be, 3 parallel horizontal lines, see picture#6) Weighing 8 grams. The two-sided medallion appears to be in good shape. There are some tiny chips and scratches on the bottom edge of the front of the pendant, see picture#4) and the back of the charm has a small stain. I couldn't find any markings on the long chain to indicate that it is silver, and several of the links appear to be rusted, so I'm assuming it is not sterling. All in all. It is made of red clay and it was purchased in Oaxaca many years ago. It stands a little over 9 inches. It stands steady on the table. This clay figure is hollow clay. It has many interesting design features. The warrior is holding something in one hand. He is wearing a huge headpiece and wearing a cape over his shoulders and a cloth from his waist. The clay figure still has the dust of the firings. I think. I did not attempt to clean it up. I think it adds interest. Condition is excellent. I don’t think it has any cracks or chips. This is a photographic glass magic lantern slide. Black and white, labeled, Mexico, Chichen Itza Ruins, Snake's Head. Chichen Itza was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya civilization. The archaeological site is located in the municipality of Tinum, in the Mexican state of Yucatán. Magic Lantern Slides are one of the best untapped resources for antique photographs there are. Slides were usually discarded after a relatively short period of use so are difficult to find. Slide is 3 1/4" x 4" is in very good condition, and can be viewed by projecting, holding it to the light, or placing it on a light box. This slide can be made into a photograph or poster. I have up for auction a nice Pre-Columbian Style Hand Crafted Vintage Mayan/Aztec Clay Snake Flute w/ an obvious Phallus Shape about 10" plus. I think it is some sort of flute used in ceremonies used by the Mayans or Aztecs or Incas etc. It has a couple of sculptures of masks and the snake and of course the shape. Be sure to look at all the pictures. The last pictures shows a small crack in the snake that had been repaired. I will start the bidding off real low and maybe you will get lucky and me not so lucky.

It is 9cm hight. 4.5cm wide to the widest part at the edge, 1.7cm thick, made of calcite, light blue in color, no chips, there was a hairline crack near the right eye throught the hole but was filled with some white color substance(I think that was lime stone) after long time of burial. I picked this beautiful beast up on a vacation to Mexico. I was near Tulum and hit a local artisan outdoor shop type thing and ran across this. it caught my eye when I first walked in. I was on a type of tour and I had just started the day and didn't want to carry a chessboard with me all day. so I kept going. Needless to say. I caved on my way out and bought it because it was so beautiful. xD It's been my favorite chessboard since then but I don't play much at all anymore and I've taken a liking to a new crystal/glass clean cut board.
