Vtg Greek Pottery Replica Plate Apollo w Kithara& Raven/Apollon Delphi Museum Up for sale is a vintage replica of a Greek pottery plate from the Apollon Delphi Museum featuring Apollo with a kithara. He is seated on a lion-pawed diphros and is with a crow or raven. The cracks are replicas of the original which dates to approx. 470 B.C. The plate is 6.75" in diameter. There's a hook for hanging on the back. The back is also signed and the artist may be"Markozanis" The black rim has some tiny flakes but otherwise all is in nice condition. I purchased this at an estate auction and am uncertain of its age. Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week. Ancient Greek Hellenistic amphora pottery handles inscription Jerusalem & Rhodes
AT Auction is a LOT of two(2) fragmented pottery handles that came off of large wine amphorae jugs used to transport wine and other commodities aboard ships throughout the ancient Mediterranean. They date from the Hellenistic Age(circa 300-100 B.C. when the Greeks dominated much of the ancient world. One of them bears what appears to be Hebrew letters around a motif; I was told by a knowledgeable person that it references Jerusalem. The other handle has a partial Greek inscription as well as a rose flower motif and is from the island of Rhodes(thus the word"rose" I personally acquired both of these amphorae handles in Jordan. A large southern Italic Greek Hellenistic terracotta bust of a lady. Dating to the 3rd century BC. This fine bust of a lady depicts her with the head turned slightly to one side; the small mouth. Elegant brow and almond-shaped eyes all delicately modelled. The hair is tied up into a bun at the back, with a band holding the tight strands in place at the front. There is wonderful preservation of the white and red pigment, really giving the viewer a sense of how this piece would have appeared in antiquity. With her subtle smile. We bought this amazing piece of art pottery in a little gallery on the island of Mykonos during a trip to Greece in 1994. It's a heavy plate/bowl with two male figures etched on the surface of the clay. It's 11.5" in diameter and can sit flat on a table(as a bowl) or be displayed on a stand(as a plate) I used to have a card with the artist's name. But I couldn't find it. I tried to get a close-up pic of the potter's mark. 3. This piece is in as-new condition. No chips, cracks or crazes. It's been sitting in the master bathroom of our house for.wow.twenty years! It made the trip from Greece. But we're moving to Ecuador, and it's just too heavy to come along. It would make a great wedding gift(in some states 😄) or treat yourself to something beautiful!

Vintage Celadon Pottery INCENSE BURNER, Greek Key pattern on side, prob. China
This apple celadon incense burner has been in my celadon collection for a long time. When taking the pictures. I realized that the inside looks like it may have been used as a planter although I have never used it that way. The sides have an incised greek key design; the lid is reticulated for placement of the incense sticks. It is a little difficult to distinguish what the finial is. But my guess is that it is a foo dog. Three footed; no identification marks but was probably made in China. It is quite old, possibly 1800's. One picture makes the lid look like it is a different color. But I think it is just the angle of curvature. Measurements: 4 1/2" tall. condition: NO chips; it does have overall crazing and around the rim of the bottom. It appears that some staining may have seeped into the crazing. GREEK REPLICA AMPHORA HANDLED POTTERY VASE w/wrought iron stand
My parents purchased this replica amphora in the early 1970's at a museum store after viewing an exhibit of similar amphorae. I do not know which museum or what exhibit. It is well made with a wrought iron base that stands 11.5" The amphora stands approximately 10" tall and when nesting in the stand the overall height is 16" tall. The amphora appears to be made of a porous clay or plaster that has been patina'd to a dark gray with beige undertones. There are no cosmetic issues such as chips. Cracks, dings or scratches however there are few spots where a bit of white shows through the patina, I'm not sure if this is by design or the result of the patina wearing off. This is a very elegant and architectural show piece that will look great in a living room by a fireplace or perhaps as a decorative piece in an attractive ... morebathroom setting.

The bottom is marked'Hand Made in Greece in 24K Gold' It is also marked with an'S' The'S' represents'Spyropoulos' It is in excellent condition with only one small hair line crack at the edge of the lid about 4 mm.
