Minolta MD Celtic 135mm F3.5 Lens
This lens is in excellent condition. It has a built in lens hood. There are no scratches or fungus. The focusing is extremely smooth. The aperture blades are clean and snappy. This lens will fit all Minolta MD mount cameras. It will also fit newer digital cameras with the right adapter. I've tested this lens with my Panasonic Lumix GH1 and a Minolta MD to micro 4/3 adapter. The photos turned out great. This lens comes with front& rear lens cap and a Hoya 55mm Skylight filter.

This is an auction for a lovely solid cast sterling silver shield brooch with a Celtic knotwork design which reminds me of the designs by Alexander Ritchie of Iona. Please take a look at the wonderful tribute site for more information on this amazing silversmith. I have also seen this design on slightly smaller brooches which were made by Robert Allison of Celtic Art Jewellery. Cumberland Street, Glasgow in the 1950's. It is also listed in his February 1963 catalogue with a price of 13 shillings and three pence. The securing pin is retained by a C clip. THIS IS NOT A PRINT. A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE ORIGINS AND ART OF BRASS RUBBINGS THESE RUBBING'S REPRESENT ART HISTORY. DURING THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD Monumental Brasses were crafted by silversmiths and stonemasons during the Middle Ages. And became the height of fashion in Europe between 1280-1650. They were'pictures' of actual people. And show the customs,etc.of the period. To make a rubbing we stretch rag paper over the engraved plate. use metallic wax compound's to rub the image. Each Rubbing is a Hand Made Original This is a hand made rubbing. Using gold,silver, red and blue wax crayons on special black rag paper. This beautifully decorated woodcut is based upon a design from the Book of Durrow, written in the late 7th century. The Book of Durrow was composed at the monastery of Durrow in Ireland, which was founded in the 6th ... morecentury by St. Columba. The decoration consists largely of pages of interlace patterns. Each of the four Gospels begins with a decorative initial, preceded by an illuminated'carpet' page, such as the one on which the design was based. The paper size is 20" long X 15" wide. The Image size is 15" X 81/2" The rubbing is from an exhibition featured at The Washington National Cathedral by The London Brass Rubbing Centre and more recently has been on a National tour as part of their brass rubbing workshop.
