This is for a very nice old antique Egyptian style vase from the early 1900s. The vase has a typical Egyptian Ewer shape. With a hand hammered finish to the lower half, and it is decorated with a band on the shoulder that is engraved with a classic wave design and a particularly nice embossed feather design around the rim. It has two stylised handles either side and it is backstamped to the base with a makers mark that I do not recognise. It is in absolute excellent condition with no damage to it anywhere and it has a beautiful unpolished patina to the metal. It measures 96mm(4" in diameter around its widest part and stands 230mm(9" tall. Please check out all the other antique smoking and writing implements. Marvelous Solid Silver Antique Islamic Ottoman Turkish Egyptian Zarf Cup- Tughra
A wonderful antique Egyptian Ottoman Zarf that is exquisitely hand chased with the most ornate silver work. The Zarf is beautifully chased with floral patterns. Geometrical shapes and Arabic letters. Zarf, which means an ornamental holder, first originated from the Turkish culture. It was made to hold coffee cups in order to protect the cup and also the fingers of the drinker from the hot liquid. The Zarf has 5 hallmarks. 2 on the foot and three below the rim on the Zarf. One of the hallmarks is the Tughra of Abdulmecid(1839-1861) the 31 st Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. Two of the marks represent“80” in Arabic which corresponds to 800/1000 degree of silver purity in Egyptian standards. The other two marks are of a lion and it is also consistent with the Egyptian Ottoman silver in Abdulmecid reign. I have always been fascinated by Egypt since I was a child and have collected all sorts of Egyptian antiquities. This is one of my collection items. It is a true vintage item and was used as an eyeliner utensil to apply kohl to the eyes. Kohl has been used since Ancient Egyptian times as make up and is in continued use today as well. The top twists gently in and out and the item may be cleaned for new kohl to be put in and used if you please! The faded markings at the top are Egyptian hieroglyphics. The ancient writing of Egypt. The bottom is marked with the name of the maker as well as the words Treble Plate. as well as a item number, 1875(most likely not a date mark) This teapot is fashioned in the Egyptian Revival style. Using many of the motifs from artifacts that were being shown in exhibitions at that time. The pot is decorated with Egyptian papyrys stalk, lotus flower, and geometric design, along with a hawk and human heads with Egyptian headdresses. It is monogrammed with a Gothic"K. Collectors Vault Antique Egyptian Child Arm Band Cuff Depicts a couple standing together. The man figure offering the woman figure a bouquet of flowers. The rest of the band is a floral, plant type pattern. The blue bead is dangling by a link chain between the couple and the other 2 red beads are adorned on link chains on either side. This item was hand crafted from the band to the chain links and beads for the small arm of a child. It has a bit of patina through out and will need a professional cleaning upon arrival.
