Head left, holding cornucopiae in right hand and ears of grain over modus in left hand, S on left, C on right, inscription(clockwise from 8 o’clock) PROVIDENTIA AVG This is an expensive coin type. Going for $500-$1000 in high grade. Of course, this is a lower-grade example, but that provides an opportunity for those on a budget to acquire an otherwise expensive coin at a bargain-basement price! I ship to United States only. I plan to list more coins in the next few days. So check back later for more if you are so inclined. You may also check the coins I listed in the last few days by clicking on"other items. I offer a lifetime guarantee of authenticity. I do not. Never have, and never will engage in shill bidding(a dishonest practice by which the seller or a proxy places phony bids to drive the price up) Some sellers try to justify shill bidding by saying that they need to protect themselves from losing money on the item, but that's the wrong way to do it. The right way to do it is that way that I do it-I set a minimum bid at the price below which I would lose money on the item, and from that point on, all the bidding is free and fair. I do not. Never have, and never will use deceptive photos that hide imperfections in the coin. I never touch up photos to hide imperfections, and I always take the most clear and accurate photos I can so that you get the best idea possible of how the coin actually looks, blemishes and all. If there is some weird thing that doesn't show up in the photos, I will put it in the description. Combined Shipping I do combine shipping. Items can be combined within the same calendar week. Ancient Roman Silver Alloy Ring with Deep Blue Glass Stone 200-400 AD Apart from gold and other precious metals. Romans used glass to make their jewelry. ... moreRoman jewelry gives us an insight into the culture of this ancient country. Just like other ancient civilizations. Rome also had its distinct strata of social classes. In the Roman society, jewelry was worn for indicating the social status of a person and attaching pieces of clothing rather than beautification. Gold was used by the artisans and jewelers for carving the adornments and jewelry as it was believed to be the metal of the Gods and supposed to have descended from the sun. Other than gold, the materials used in jewelry making were bronze, Roman glass, bone beads and precious gemstones which were excavated from far off places like Persia, Far East, Indus Valley, etc. Diamonds, emeralds and sapphires found their way from the silk route to the Roman land to appease the rich and mighty of this civilization. Soldiers would bury their coins and jewelry before going into battle, and many of them did not return. They were also buried to avoid tax collectors and thieves. In ancient times, a ring distinguished an individual in a way that other forms of jewelry did not. Finger rings represented the language of social code, and connoted one’s social standing. Under the Empire, the finger ring was still considered a privilege, conferred for military distinction. As time wore on and attitudes changed, the ring was more freely bestowed. Even so, the ring retained its position as a mark of dignity, as a rich ornament, as an important seal, and as a token of betrothal. Special caskets were created for holding rings, and it was customary to remove a ring from the casket, to place on the finger of a visiting guest welcomed into one's home. Known in English as Constantine II. 316-340) was Roman Emperor from 337 to 340. The eldest son of Constantine the Great and Fausta. He was born at Arles. And was raised as a Christian. On March 1, 317. Constantine was made Caesar. And at the age of seven in 323, took part in his father's campaign against ... morethe Sarmatians. At the age of ten he became commander of Gaul. After the death of his half-brother Crispus. An inscription dating to 330 records the title of Alamannicus. So it is probable that his generals won a victory over the Alamanni. His military career continued when Constantine I elected his son field commander during the 332 campaign against the Goths. Following the death of his father in 337. Constantine II became emperor jointly with his brothers Constantius II and Constans. After the division of the empire. Made by the three brothers in September of the same year in Pannonia, he ruled over Gaul, Britannia and Hispania. He was involved in the struggle between the different Christian streams. The Western portion of the empire leaned towards Catholicism and against Arianism. And Constantine freed Athanasius and allowed him to return to Alexandria. This action also put some burden on Constantius II. Who was a supporter of Arianism. At first. He was the guardian of his younger brother Constans, whose portion was Italia, Africa and Illyricum. As Constans came of age. Constantine would not relinquish the guardianship and in 340 he marched against Cons

Nerva(18th September AD 96- 25th January AD 98) Marcus Cocceius Nerva was born in the Umbrian hill town of Narni about AD 30. His brief reign was troubled by threats of military uprising stemming from his implication in the plot to assassinate the popular Domitian. The period between the accession of Nerva and the death of Marcus Aurelius is often referred to as the‘High Point of Empire’ or‘The Golden Age of Rome’ The Empire certainly reached its maximum size during this period and enjoyed many decades of wise ... moreand stable government under the Adopted Emperors. Rome’s power seemed impregnable; her authority undisputed in Western Europe and the Mediterranean. However. The beginning of this era was very different. Marcus Cocceius Nerva, who became emperor in the aftermath of Domitian’s assassination in AD 96, feared a repeat of the civil wars which followed the death of Nero 28 years earlier. Nerva avoided potential army rebellions by appointing the popular general, Marcus Ulpius Traianus, as his heir. This action diffused army opposition to the death of Domitian and secured Nerva’s position. The practice of adopting the best man as successor was thus established; Trajan, in turn, adopted Publius Aelius Hadrianus(Hadrian) who adopted Titus Aurelius Fulvus Boionius Arrius Antoninus(Antoninus Pius) and Marcus Aelius Aurelius Verus(Marcus Aurelius) Unfortunately, the successor of Marcus Aurelius was his son, Commodus, who proved a tyrant and megalomaniac. His assassination on New Year’s Eve AD 192 began a new round of internal strife and civil war. James R. Wadman B.A. M.A. History and Archaeology] for TimeLine Originals. It has come to denote the elemental metal of the same name. By extension of its association with Mercury/Hermes. The caduceus is also a recognized symbol of commerce and negotiation, two realms in which balanced exchange and reciprocity are recognized as ideals. 4] 5] This association is ancient. Venus seems to have played a part in household or private religion of some Romans. Julius Caesar claimed her as an ancestor(Venus Genetrix) possibly a long-standing family tradition. Posthumous means arising. Occurring, or continuing after one's death. You are bidding on the exact item pictured. Provided with a Certificate of Authenticity and Lifetime Guarantee of Authenticity. Eternity(or forever) is endless time. It is often referenced in the context of religion. In the concept of immortality. Whereby death is conquered. And people may live for an unlimited amount of time(cf. Heaven) The existence of gods or God is said to endure eternally and sometimes also the ... morenatural cosmos. In respect to both past and future. By contrast. The concept of a mathematically infinite duration. Is called sempiternity or everlasting. Whereas the eternal is said to be unchanging and outside time; a potentially sempiternal span of time can never come to pass in actuality. 1] Aristotle argued that cosmos has no beginning. The idea of eternity The metaphysics of eternity studies that which necessarily exists"outside" or independently of space and time. Another important question is whether" information" or Form is separable from mind and matter. God and eternity Theists say that God is eternally existent. How this is understood depends on which definition of eternity is used. On one hand. God may exist in eternity. A timeless existence where categories of past. Present, and future just do not apply. On the other hand, God will exist for or through eternity. Or at all times. Having already existed for an infinite amount of time and continuing to exist for an infinite amount of time. One other definition states that God exists outside the human concept of time, but also inside of time. The reasoning for this definition is that if God did not

Nerva died on January 27. 98, and was succeeded by his adopted son without incident. As a civilian administrator. Trajan is best known for his extensive public building program, which reshaped the city of Rome and left multiple enduring landmarks such as Trajan's Forum. Trajan's Market and Trajan's Column. It was as a military commander however that Trajan celebrated his greatest triumphs. In 101. He launched a punitive expedition into the kingdom of Dacia against king Decebalus. C. 203– March 11, 222) also known as Heliogabalus or Marcus Aurelius Antoninus. Was a Roman Emperor of the Severan dynasty who reigned from 218 to 222. Born Varius Avitus Bassianus. He was Syrian on his mother's side. The son of Julia Soaemias and Sextus Varius Marcellus. And in his early youth he served as a priest of the god El-Gabal at his hometown. Emesa. Upon becoming emperor he took the name Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus. And was called Elagabalus only a long ... moretime after his death. In 217. The emperor Caracalla was murdered and replaced by his Praetorian prefect. Marcus Opellius Macrinus. Caracalla's maternal aunt. Julia Maesa. Successfully instigated a revolt among the Third Legion to have her eldest grandson. Elagabalus, declared as emperor in his place. Macrinus was defeated on June 8, 218, at the Battle of Antioch. Upon which Elagabalus, barely fourteen years old, ascended to the imperial power and began a reign that was marred by infamous controversies, to put it mildly. During his rule. Elagabalus showed a disregard for Roman religious traditions and sexual taboos. He was married as many as five times and is reported to have prostituted himself in the imperial palace. Elagabalus replaced Jupiter. Head of the Roman pantheon. With a new god, Deus Sol Invictus. And forced leading members of Rome's government to participate in religious rites celebrating this deity, which he personally led. Amidst growing opposition. Elagabalus, only 18 years old, was assassinated and replaced by his cousin Alexander Severus Praetorian Guard. Elagabalus developed a reputation among his contemporaries for eccentricity. Decadence, and zealotry
