Egyptian Alabaster Bowl This very large footed alabaster bowl comes from Egypt. And a private American collection. It's actual age however is unknown, undetermined, inconclusive. Therefore, no claims are made here regarding it's antiquity. The original owner claims it is ancient. Left to him by his mother. An adjunct Egyptologist who worked in Egypt just before the outbreak of World War II. The well rolled lip rim, and cone shaped footed pedestal suggest a form known from the Egyptian pre-dynastic period, As seen in the accompanying photo, of two colored stone jars(which are NOT included or available in this sale) the style is similar. The comparison colored jars are however smaller in size, and taller in proportions. As seen in the photos. This looks genuinely old. But, in my opinion, it does not have the right odor for an ancient piece. I am just an amateur, but I have smelled the smell before, and I don't smell it here. I saw a similar-looking piece sell for thousands online, so it is disappointing. A label inside it, visible in one picture, says, Sac_ Collection. I don't know if that means anything. I got it at an estate sale where it did not seem to attract much attention. 4-3/8 inches tall. Some chips and a big crack are visible in the pictures. There will be no partial refunds. At that time it was still legal to purchase Egyptian antiquities. Through government licensed antiquity dealers. When I asked the dealer, I was told the group came from a recently found site. The site of an ancient amulet maker. Later. Once home, I realized something was wrong. Although the details were fine and correct, and the amulets represented good quality Period pieces. There were problems with each of them. This particular amulet was a bit different. It represented an amulet for a time a bit later than the others. But. That in itself was not the problem. True, this amulet appeared later in date, Late Period. Likely 28th-30th dynasty in style. Again that was not the problem. Indeed. ... moreIt's work and detail were especially fine. Likely one of the first out of the amulet's mold. The face and expression of Isis is clear, as is her baby Horus' As it turned out. I realized. The story told to me was likely only half true. That is, this amulet like the others was probably made in an ancient mold. That much seemed true and clear, but not in antiquity. This example had been made, perhaps 30 years ago today. Not 3,000 years ago. Like the others that I researched. The style was consistent with ancient material. But, I came to realized, something was wrong. The colors and glazes are not quite right, they were'off. And there was one additional, now obvious, problem. This amulet like the others, lacks it's suspension hole in the back pillar. A small detail that my'dealer friend. or his supplier, missed when re-casting the pieces. And one that I missed myself when buying it. Still. Like the others. This amulet does serve a good purpose today. First, it represents probably the finest copy I have yet seen. A better than usual study piece. It expresses the correct form and fine details for which to watch, when buying Period pieces. While at the same

Ancient EGYPTIAN COFFIN FRAGMENT Horus
Offered is what appears to be an ancient Egyptian painted wood coffin fragment. The wood panel is very desiccated. The finished surface with a layer of gesso or plaster that has been painted with images of Horus and Anubis. This is beyond my area of expertise so I am unable to say for sure that this is an ancient fragment, but it certainly seems to be. The wood is clearly ancient in the way is has broken down. Please see detailed photos and make your own decision. This came from a local estate and according to the family would have likely been collected in the late 1920’s. It is is fairly stable condition with some lifting of the gesso along the left side, but otherwise solid.

The god Horus This amulet of the falcon-headed god Horus. Walks forward on the left foot. The god wears the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt, over a tripartite wig. Bare chested the god holds both arms and hands against his sides. He wears the royal pleated kilt, tied at the wait. The back pillar is pierced for suspension. The amulet has a single repaired break. Nice"Sema Motif" Ankh" and"Kheper" Hieroglyphs_ 100% Authentic and Ancient This attractive and authentic ancient Egyptian steatite is remarkably well preserved. Made of polished steatite with a deep. Crisp inscription this artifact begs to be a part of your collection. Holed for suspension(do not try to make it wearable again. You may break it) and measuring 2 cm x 1.5 cm, this scarab has pleasant eye appeal due to it's great condition. This style dates from the 12th Dynasty to the early 18th Dynasty 1900 B.C. 1500 B.C. or roughtly through the entire Hyksos period of time, then some. The inscription on the bottom contains two ankhs for the words"life. Or to live" and symbolizes the two kingdoms, and ... morein between the two ankhs is the beetle- the word for kheper"to become, or come into existence. On the top of the scarab is the"sema motif" symbolizing the union of the two lands, are the papyrus and the lotus plants. Egyptian God Figure--Resin--Hachette Gods of Ancient Egypt Collection--Sekhmet
The Hachette company issued a series of 110 Egyptian god figures that were available in the UK. Australia, and other countries, but are relatively hard to find in the US. When you do buy single figures from the UK, the postage adds considerably to their price. Now they are becoming collectable. I have a collection of 52 first quality figures that I am selling, as I was able to buy a separate complete set, so I am selling my doubles. The figures are up to 5 inches tall and hand painted. The detail is quite good. And the historical and archaeological accuracy impressive. This figure is Sekhmet(Sakhmet) The Powerful. lioness-goddess of Memphis, consort of Ptah. Height: 4.75 inches Note: This is one of the original issue Hachette figures. The ones for sale currently on Amazon are a"second printing. and seem to use the same molds, but the ... morepainting is not nearly as good. I have around 50 of those figures for sale also in separate listings, at a much lower price. These originals all came to me from Canada, UK, or France, and the price reflects their scarcity and the shipping I paid to get them. You will note ones for sale on Ebay with even higher prices. And it is important to note that there is some variation in quality even among the original issue. In my complete set, collected by one person in the UK by subscription, there is some difference in the painting(different factories? different artists? decline over time?
