There are 12 separate pieces aside from the beads: 2 faience djed columns(these were very common and popular charms; they represent the spine of Osiris and stood for stability) 2 faience charms representing the crowns of Upper and Lower Egypt. 1 blue faience lotus-shaped bead. 1 faience charm inscribed with a double x. Which stood for the hieroglyph"ni'wt, meaning"town" 1 tiny faience piece that may have been part of a diminutive Eye of Horus. 5 different amulets representing the popular god Bes. Bes was the protector of households and especially of children. Most pieces have been pierced so they could be worn on a cord or thing. Ancient Egyptian Alabaster Jar/6 1/2 Inches Tall/ No Damage
This beautifully grained alabaster jar stands 6.5 inches and is 3+ inches at the widest point. The exterior is in fine condition with no damage. There is a layer of clear calcium deposit running at an angle from the bottom to one side as if it sat in water at an angle for a very long time. This kind of ageing can't be faked. The color striations in the alabaster are very attractive. The interior is the proper bored and hand hollowed technique. It is amazing how thin the interior was hand chipped out without breaking through to the exterior. This is from an old world traveler/collector estate. White gesso still present, solar disk re-attached. Measures 5.75" inches in height. Along side the Uraeus we find two double plume headdresses in wood; consists of a solar disc and plumes. Old Ornate Tray Of Ancient Egyptian Wall Art
This metal tray depicts the wall art of the ancient Egyptians. Their are 5 blocks showing a 2 figure art with egyptian God. Goddess and crowns plus an animal and Logo Graphics, Hieroglyphs, and using the Hieroglyphic Alphabet and some Cartouche. I am relying heavily on the photos to show how this art was etched into the tray. The etching was by tooling or acid. I do not know the process but high quality. There is also the identification of the metal I believe it is brass but then under the ornate scrolling at the borders there is a silver appearance. None of these materials used will magnetize. Note there are some corrosive spots photoed. Wooden Oarsman from a typical funerary boat as found inside tombs of the 12th Dynasty. Quite detailed carving, most of the surface retaining its original pigments(no restoration) including the face. Both arms missing as usual. Also some parts of the legs are missing. Oarsmen are represented quite differently on the funerary boats. Some kneeling some sitting. This example is kneeling. Hand carved Udjat Eye of typical 3rd Intermediate Period style. Detailed carving, some of the surface covered by dark blue patina. Indentations with encrustations. Egyptian blue.
