This is a very rare silver card case with the ancient Egyptian River Nile Temple of Philae in high relief to the front. Philae was formerly an Egyptian island temple complex on Lake Nasser on the River Nile in the south of Egypt. The temple complex/ island was moved in recent history under a UNESCO project in order to preserve it with the construction of the Aswan Dam. The card case is rectangular in shape with rounded corners. The front of the card case has the chased scene of the Philae temple complex in high relief with palm trees and hills to the background. The case has chased leaves and berries to the border. The reverse side of the case has a large ... morevacant shield cartouche with chased swirling leaves and lattice decoration. The lid of the case is hinged and is in excellent order with the lid opening and closing tightly. The case is 2-3/4 inches/ 70 mm wide and 4 inches/ 101 mm high. It weighs 61 grams. Vintage Egyptian Bell Set of(2) Different Entities Ancient Egyptian Mythology. The winged man with beak is approx 5-1/2" tall and the base is 2-1/4" wide the wings span approx 2-1/2" across, the other one is approx 5-3/4" tall and base is 2-1/4" wide. I believe these are brass just because of the tarnish but not 100% sure, they weigh approx 7 oz each. They are both super nice and because of how the bell is attached on the bottom they are older items. They both still are functional as bells. The eye of classic form. The colour an olive green, pierced in antiquity for attachment to a collar or necklace. The cylinder seal carved from a dark stone and with striated patterning across the body. To the ancient Egyptians. Personal adornment was not worn only for show, rather items such as this piece were intended to enhance or protect the wearer with powerful magic and spells. An ancient Egyptian bronze figure depicting Apis. Dating to the Late Period, 664– 332 BC. Striding confidently forward. The beautiful caramel patina of this Apis bull lends a beautiful countenance to the piece. A winged scarab is incised across the forequarters, whilst the animal wears a solar disk fronted by a uraeus between his horns, indicating its deification. The projection from the base suggests this artefact was originally mounted to an ancient stand before being dedicated at a local temple. Many animals played a part in the religious life of ancient Egypt. Yet the Apis bull was one of the most popular, considered to be the living manifestation of the god Ptah, it was selected and cared for at its cult centre in Memphis. When the animal died, it was accorded all of the highest funerary rights and the nationwide search for the new Apis ... morebegan. This prospective new bull was required to have a white crescent on one side of its body or a white triangle on its forehead, signifying its acceptance by the gods. These beautiful statuettes were offered at local temples as an expression of devotion and a hope that the gods might offer favour. What we see here then is not only a beautifully expressive piece of Egyptian art and remnant of a lost religion. Rare Collection of 17 Ancient Egyptian Faience Beads and Amulets
Very rare collection of Egyptian Faience beads and amulets dating to approximately 2.000 years old. Beautiful Eye of Horus, Trumpet beads, and other figural pcs. There are some super rare figural beads here, including the brownish color one. It has nice detail that isn't showing in my image. It is also faience, I can see the blue when I look at it close-up. The trumpet at top is pretty sweet too, as is the the flat tabular bead. All are in perfect condition with the exception of the two beads on the lower left, which are missing their heads, and there is a nicely detailed woman's head sitting next to them. The stone eye of Horus bead is an unknown to me and I'm not sure of it's age. It appears to be Jasper. The long trumpet bead is 2" long.
