4 PC Antique Victorian Art Deco Champion Cast Iron Eastlake Window Sash Locks
Wonderful 4 pc lot of cast iron window sash locks that are marked Champion. Some have a little more wear than others. But all are in overall good antique condition. Please look closely at the pictures. The inner latch works are cleverly concealed. These antique locks seem to be in great working condition. They measure 1 3/4" high all put together. The top eagle claw piece measures about 2 1/2" wide, the holes are 2" apart. The smaller bottom piece measures 2 3/8" wide and the holes are 1 3/4" apart. Great piece for remodeling. This auction is for local pick-up only and features 4 pairs of antique wooden shutters. Each shutter measures approx. 67 ½ x 15 ¼ inches. There is a slight variance in width because one of the pair is the inner shutter and has a more pronounced“lip” to allow the outer shutter to rest in the fold. These are all matched pairs and are structurally sound. There are no missing slats. And the frames are solid with no fear of them falling apart. Of course, these have several layers of good old paint, and the paint of course has flaked in a few areas. No dry-rot, no holes. ANTIQUE CURTAIN TIE BACKS MADE OF PRESSED GLASS WITH FLORAL IMAGE This lot came from an estate with other antiques and collectibles and they are in very good condition. I have examined each one and I do not see any nicks or chips in any of the glass. They have a pale green color(note that the flash on my camera made them look a little greener in some photos than they really look) and each one measures almost 3.5" across and the metal posts measure a little over 3.5" long. Two of them have the metal holders that screw into the wall(the threads on one looks a little bent but still useable) and the other two are just the glass pieces without the holders. I am not sure of how old they are but I would guess depression era or earlier. These are very collectible and many people are using them to create an authentic antique look to their ... moredecor. 2) ANTIQUE PALE PINK PRESSED GLASS CURTAIN TIE BACKS WITH METAL HARDWARE. These are from an estate with many fine antiques and collectibles and look to be in very very good condition for their age. They measure about 4.5" across and the metal hardware holder pieces are about 3.5" long. They do not have any noticeable nicks or chips but if you really look close you can see minor imperfections from the pressed glass process and one has a spot that may be a tiny nick or it may be just an imperfection I am not sure. Either way you really have to look very close to even notice. I am not sure of the age of these but I would guess they are depression era or prior. They are really beautiful and I have included photos with an old buffalo nickel for a size reference and the nickel will be included with the tiebacks. These are a rare matched set of 4 Victorian ornate cast iron window sash locks. With the remains of original paint and a fine film of rust, making for a wonderful patina that only comes with age. These measure 2 1/4" long on the backplates x 1" wide. The half circles are 2 1/4" x 1 1/8" wide. These have raised lettering on the back PAT. JAN.4& JUNE 13 1876. There are no chips or cracks. Keeper, and lift sets in this Victorian era Eastlake style lot. The cast iron items are unmarked by their manufacturer, but they are very ornate and functioning. There is an extra keeper and lift in this lot, so all that is missing to make 5 complete sets is the sash lock mechanism. The locks measure 2 9/16" long by 1 3/4" wide when the keeper and lock are attached. The lifts measure 1 1/2" long by 1 5/8" wide, they have usage wear, and one is slightly bent. These hook together cleanly using the hook through the eye which has a narrow side for that purpose(see photo 2) When hanging and therefore straightened out. They can not come apart because narrow side is turned. This hooking together allows multiple weights depending on the size of the window. These are probably 1st half twentieth century. A set of four ca 1880 Victorian 1 5/8" in diameter sulphide glass curtain tie backs with white star center design and filigree metal surround. The glass medallions are 1 1/4" in diameter and rise 1/8" from the rim of the surround. The turned wooden posts are 3 1/4" long and they are 4 3/4" to the end of the screws. There is a fracture in the glass. Seen close up in the 6th photo. The 7th photo shows a ding with a flesh colored residue in it. Don't know what that is! They are unsigned but are most likely from a maker like P. E. Guerin. Please feel free to politely offer your opinion. They are in very good condition. You may find a flake or two off the side rims of the glass, but nothing that detracts in my opinion. A lot of four ca 1880 Victorian individual sulphide glass curtain tie backs with slightly different red star center and metal surround design. The first two have black spindles and are 1 5/8" in diameter. The glass medallions rise 1/8" from the rim of the filigreed brass surround. The turned wooden posts are 3 3/8" long and to the end of the screws they measure 4 2/4" The next two are 2 1/2" in diameter and the glass medallions rise 1/4" from the metal surround. The first. I believe is later and has a cherry(I think) spindle and it retains the majority of the metal finish. Both it and the last one have a Greek Key surround. The last has no wood spindle.
