Mailbox is from the early to mid 1900's. Black in color, and measures 10 1/4" high X 5 1/2" wide X 2 1/4" deep. It is made from a thin& magnetic metal(tin or steel) made in USA. It opens in 2 spots-the very top flap and the middle flap that says MAIL. This mailbox has chippy paint and some RUST! Wheel#F I'm certainly NO expert on old wheels& rims. I just like cool looking garden decor so bought this for just that purpose. The man who sold this one and a few others to us recently said that they were wheel rims from a 1932 OR 1936 model vehicle. I THINK he said they were for a Ford but I'm hoping someone who knows will pass the info on to Rick and I. Regardless. You just don't come across these much anymore. Surface rust as indicative of age but no holes! I just shot it with a colorful combination of John Deere green colored paint and bright yellow spokes. These 5 are very old-early 1900's at least-and had been a part of something, maybe a chandelier or other decorative item. Each one is a piece of flat, stamped metal, measuring 5 3/4" long X 1" wide; there is a hole on one end and a smaller, round stamped hole on the other end; some of these smaller holes are not stamped all the way through.
