Vintage W L Davey Corp Cast Iron/Brass Hand Well Water Pump Farm Tool Primitive
Vintage pump marked W. L. Davey Corp. Rockford. Ill. This pump measures 20" tall, the base is 9" x 4 1/2" and the handle is about 18 1/2" long. The top spout part is threaded and is 1" the other one 1/2 way down is also threaded and is 3/4" The body part is brass as well as some of the other fittings, the rest is cast iron. The handle moves freely, there are no cracks, welds or breaks in the cast iron. There are various cast#s on a few of the parts, see pictures for details. Hasn't been tested or used in years, might need new"guts" or would be great for garden decor. Ships USPS Standard(economy) or Priority w/$5.00 handling which includes tracking and insurance.

I am listing a beautiful cast iron Leader hay trolley or unloader in excellent condition. It was manufactured in the late 1800's has a patent in raiswd letters on one side. This trolley has not been repainted but has been cleaned and give a coat of clear laquer. The cast iron polished up rea nice and has a beautiful patina. A lot of these old hay trolleys are absolute works of art. This one included. If your looking for a standout display piece you might want to consider this one. It is 17 1/2" long x 12 1/2" x 7" wide. Antique Cast Iron Hayes Pump & Planter Co Galva IL Farm Water Well Pump Hit Miss
Up for bids at auction: Up for bids is this antique cast iron. Hayes Pump& Planter Co. Well Pump. This old pump is in good condition and was found at an old farm estate in Central Iowa where the pump had been sitting unused on an old well for many years. As you can see in the pictures, the pump is marked with raised, embossed lettering that reads, MF’D BY HAYES PUMP& PLANTER CO. on both sides of the body ~“GALVA, ILL. U.S.A. on both sides of the spout and“HAYES GALVA, ILL. on the base as well as having embossed part numbers on the various pieces of the pump. The handle raises, lowers and works just as it should and the pump could easily be reconditioned to pump water. It appears to have been repainted silver a long time ago with the paint worn thin or entirely away in some places. The pump is just as I found it with an old repair ... moreon the neck and a place on one side of the base that does not extend as high up as the other side. Both of these points are easily overlooked and did not prevent the pump for being used. As you can see in the pictures. The old water pipe extends below the base roughly six inches- Most of the time this would be cut off. However if you’re looking for a pump to use as décor. Just push that section of pipe in the ground or use it as an anchor if you cement in into place. Either way. It won’t go anywhere and no additional work will be needed. If you want to cut the pipe off. It can easily be done. Overall height from the base to the top of pump. Excluding the water pipe that goes below the base, is roughly 42 inches. Just a nice old. Hard to find pump for the collection or for use. Please refer to the pictures and feel free to email with any questions. Antique Forged Iron Farm Garden Row Stake Pole Tool Plant Rope Guide primitive I believe these are antique garden stakes or poles used to make straight planting rows in the garden. The forged iron stakes were used by a real English gardener on a wealthy estate in New Jersey during approx. 1940s-60s. The estate featured a farm and employed a blacksmith for decades. Therefore most likely these were forged on the farm at some point. Both stakes feature a spear at the bottom, one having an"eye" at the top and the other a"grid" to wrap the rope around- the grid is free to spin around, making winding up the rope easy. The simple stake measures 26" long and the larger one measures 28" long. The rope may be original, however I'm not certain. Windmill Water Pump, Challenge Co., Hand Lever, Cast Iron, Vintage, Farm, 1492
Used. Windmill or Hand Operated Water Pump Housing, Lever and other components. Manufactured by the Challenge Company in Batavia, Illinois, probably in the 1920's but I'm not sure of an exact date. Nice looking cast iron pump housing. Lever and pivot. Base would allow anchoring for display(I'll include a"dummy, not original equipment" sucker rod to help position handle, not pictured) or use these good components for repair parts! The numbers"1492" are cast into the lower part of housing. These might be a model number. Not sure. Challenge Co, Batavia ILL is also cast into the housing. The number"18" is cast into the lever, the letter"C" on the connecting link and the number"919" on the parting rod guide. The pump housing with the pivot casting on top, measures about 45-1/2" ... morein overall height and the base is about 10-1/4" diameter. The handle is about 39" long as shown in the picture. There is evidence of possibly factory"as manufactured" repairs on the spigot. You can see small rectangular pieces of what appear to be cast iron inserted in a couple of spots(see pictures) There is also an old"weld repair" to the housing. Just above the end of the CHALLENGE CO/BATAVIA ILL script(see picture) There is a small"notch" in the base edge and other nicks and dings from use. I don't see any other repairs or cracks but without putting water to it, I don't know for sure. There is a"cast line" on the side of the base of the top casting that looks like a crack but when examined from the inside/end, there is no crack and it is evident that it is"as cast" This IS NOT a complete working pump. Other components not included in this auction would be required to make this item function as intended. Shipping note; these items will ship by UPS in two boxes due to the total weight. It appears that someone has recently painted it. This design of pump has the rotating head design. Just losen the bolt and rotate the head and handle to which ever way you desire. This fine old piece would look great in your garden! Approximate Measurements The pump is 17" tall. The base has a 8" diameter. The handle is 18" long and the spout is 4" long. Markings Red Jacket Mfg Co. Davenport Ia. Condition Good condition for its age. There is one area on the handle that has been repaired. See pictures. This auction is for an older vintage iron wheel with SIX spokes and a rim that is 1-3/8" wide. The center hub is 1-3/4" in dia with a 3/4" hole. The hub has a slot for a key that would have been on the axle along with a set screw to hold it in place. Found in old shed we tore down for the lumber and is in found condition. With only a dusting. They are quite large and measure 35 by 26 inches. Each one weighs about 35 pounds as well. I will ship but would prefer to be picked up.
