The frame(2” thick) is painted on both sides and is sturdy with no rotting or other condition issues. In the frame. It measures 65”w x 16”h and the measurement for the glass only is 60”w x 11 1/2”h. The border of the window is textured glass and the foliate pattern is done in a mix of textured and glue chip glass which is a technique where they sand blast the glass first. Then“paint” it with glue, then put it into a low fired kiln so when it’s fired, it actually“rips” the glass and creates the pattern. The lead veins are strong with no breakage or bowing. The windows are made of solid Douglas Fir. Each window has an adjustable transom and has 2(pebbled. Floraled) textured glass lites. Hardware: These windows come equipped with a lock that site on the top of the transom. However. If you do not like the lock or just want something a little different, we have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store, and tons more in our physical store. The house this window came from was approx 100 years old and has been recently torn down and is shown. All of these parts are steel and in working order. all are painted white and a few layers. the window has both hinges. the half side of hinge is 1" x 2 1/2" long. both work and have the original pins. 7.00Antique OAK 3 PART WOOD POLE - transom window or map puller
This is a useful. Screw together solid wood/ oak I believe/ 39" long pole/ stick when all 3 pieces together. The top and bottom can be screwed together as well to make a shorter pole. It is used on old transom windows that did not lock but had a hook type latch to raise and lower; some say it was also used to pull large maps down in old school rooms when the ceilings were typically 9' and higher. It looks like brass/copper wrapped around the wood stick on the ends that screw together. The solid brass loop shaped tip unscrews as well so it could be replaced with a hook for a different type of transom window. It is in as found condition. Estate item I've had for over 15 years just sitting. The wood appears in good shape, a few scratches but no cracks or breakage; no visible repairs I know of. Vintage NOS Brass Plated Cast Steel / Iron Transom Window Pull Latch / Catch
My father had a hardware store from 1946 to 1983. When he closed it. He brought the merchandise to his house where it has been since. He recently passed away and it is now my task to sell this merchandise. For sale is 1 Brass plated cast steel/ iron transom window pull catch. The catches are unused and the finish is in fair condition with some checking and slight rust especially underneath. The catch measures 1-1/4" x 2-1/4" x 1/2" and 2-5/8" from tip to end of pull and about 1" high overall. The pull is 1/4" thick. Condition: There is one piece of broken glass which will need to be replaced. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. This is a great piece. The frame is rectangular but the glass forms an arch. There are 14 pieces of glass separated by wood mullions. All the glass is beveled all the way around. There are no cracks or breaks. The frame is pine and is unpainted. It measures 48 inches wide by 17.75 tall and is 1.5 thick at the crown molding. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. The frame has cracks on both sides and will need a couple of screws to secure. Easy Fix. The glazing putty around the glass needs to be filled in. Please look at the pictures carefully.
