They were mounted in the door so they do have some residue left on them from being mounted. The edges of these pieces are not finished since they were mounted in a door window. I noticed a crack in one piece and a large chip in two other pieces. All the rest of the pieces are not cracked and do not have major chips(only small chips on the edges) Please take a look at the pictures to see exactly what you get. They came out of an old ... moredoor that was recently updated with new glass. These pieces were salvaged and are very hard to find. You are bidding on 3 cast iron in-wall window weights/counterweights. They came out of original sash windows from a house built in 1924 so they are about 90 years old. There are 2 different styles. The two shown in the picture together have the numbers 5 and 2 printed on them. Not sure about the 2. Could be a 3) One weighs 5 lb 5 oz. and the other weighs 5 lb 8 oz. The one shown by itself is a different style with no markings on it. It weighs 5 lb 8 oz. Window weights are 90 years old. They are cast iron. So they have rusted over time. There is obvious corrosion to the metal, but they still perform the function they were meant to perform. The hole where the sash would loop through is still in good structural condition. The They vary in length from 4" thru 5 1/2" actual pivoting fastener(Brass) is 1 3/4" in length, while the widths range from 1 1/4" thru 1 1/2" They are from loose old stock that was used for samples and display. They do show their age, as can be seen in the pictures, but for restoration folk these sort of objects are always handy, as they can be used in many circumstances where the rest of the object also shows its age.
