The top swivels far enough to open if fully(about 1/4 of a turn) It has a peg that stops it- If the peg were removed, it would probably swivel completely around. There are no compartments underneath, but there is room on each side that a bottom could be put in and it would be about 2 1/2" deep. It is about 30" high. Large Round Mahogany Dining Table - Ornately Carved Acanthus Legs, Lion Paw Feet
This may be the most beautiful table one could ever actually own. It certainly is worthy of a castle! In the years of our ownership I have watched for any similar table. With no luck. Because of this, we cannot make any estimate as to age or origin. It is not new, please see the pictures, which show the construction. Solid mahogany. Not veneer. Table top measures 66" across. The ornately carved legs spread to a width of 60" the scale is perfect. There is one seam in the top, at the 4' mark. The table seats eight easily. The table was refinished less than ten years ago. Removing several layers of paint and a floral motif. It was hand refinished, no vats of stripper. When we got the top clean and saw the seam, I worried that it was vulnerable, and had a patch installed by a master carpenter on the bottom across the seam. No doubt ... moreit was overkill, but it does now have a patch on the reverse of the tabletop- see pics. The underside of the table and the interior of the drum are shown so that you can see the construction methods. Please note that we did not strip the underside and it still shows some light cream paint. Each of legs. And the carved lion paw feet measure 6" across. The drum that they attach to measures 16" across. There are a few slight blemishes. Namely a series of pindots in the top center, about 1/2" across- just did not sand them out. Also along the"skirt" there are a few nicks, as seen in the photos. Other than those things. The table is in excellent condition. Victorian at least, am hoping that the EBay audience can see the extreme high quality and craftsmanship of the table. Top comes off. I did replace the original nuts. Vintage, mahogany accent/buffet/dining table with 5 legs that expands to seat at least 10, maybe 12 with small chairs. It has nice scroll/cut work on the front. This is the perfect table if you have limited space because it allows for increased seating as needed. I only used it as an accent table in my living room but it would make an excellent buffet table, too. Completely closed. It is 20" by 39 1/2" When the top is flipped open, it is 38 3/4" by 39 1/2" This can seat 4 easily. There are three leaves, each is 12" x 39 1/2" Fully opened with all 3 leaves, it can expand to 75 1/2" by 39 1/2" Because it has three leaves, it is very versatile. The three leaves are a bit darker than the table because they ... morewere in a corner in my garage and haven't been exposed to sunlight in years. I think they add to the look of the table by creating a two tone effect with reddish and brownish mahogany tones. There are a few very fine scratches on the top when closed as an accent table. One of the leaves has a noticeable scratch nearer the edge but if you use place-mats or a table cloth. It will not be seen. Use it only when you want a large seating. I have tried to photo it closed. Flipped open, partially open, and fully open in progression as I extended it. One leg does need a repair. I tried to show it in the photos. It is not a difficult repair. I don't own a drill and a C-clamp or I would have tried to do it myself. On the inside of the leg that needs to be glued/screwed back on, there is a small chip at the very top. It has a Medium Dark Blonde Mahogany Patina to to the top. These were used at"tea time" in the UK. They would be set up and then the tea would be served. After"tea time" they would be folded down and set up next to a wall until it was time for tea again. Today. These make wonderful entry tables with a pretty plant or flower arrangement on them. The also make a nice end or side table. They do not require at lot of room to store if you are not going to use it everyday. It's made out of Solid Mahogany and has some pretty carving around the outside edge of the top. It has a 24 1/8" X 11 3/8" footprint to it and 25 1/2" ... moretall with both leaves down. We purchased this piece over 20 years ago at an estate sale. Used it for about 15 years and stored for the last seven years. I can't find any information on this particular piece anywhere. The closest I got was a piece made in Ireland with the same triple balister. Carved knees and claw and ball feet. I consider this a Tea or Serving Table because of the four carved carrying slots. See Pics) Mahogany Wood. Stands 28 1/4 inches tall. Top measures 26" by 20" Each leg spans approx. 12 3/4 inches. The triple Balister is approx. 7 inches around above the carving. Flat head screws. Reinforces legs with an inserted piece of wood at the bend. Very well made. Local pick up or possible deliver within a reasonable distance.

intricately carved mahogany, marble-topped table, georgian style
I purchased this table in a divorce situation so I don't know the provenance but it is stunningly carved and in perfect condition. I cannot find a maker's label. It is beautifully carved all the way around so it is great out in a room and doesn't have to be against a wall. The marble top has a beveled edge and looks like strips of stone laid together. It is almost black but has a dark green tinge(see pictures) Looking at granite. The closest I see is called green ocean. The front side has a face carved in the center. This is truly a museum piece. The dimensions are 55 1/4" long. 21 5/8" deep and 30" tall. I am making this a local pick-up only but if a buyer would like to arrange pick-up and shipping with a White Glove delivery service. I am certainly open to that.
