Antique Wood Metal TRIUMPH Corn Pumpkin Seeder Seed Planter A C Kent One of our suppliers spends much of each month travelling all over the U.S. searching out rare primitive pieces like this. We never know what he'll come up with next. What we appreciate about his pieces is that he gets them back here and cleans them up to beautiful condition. This is a REALLY nice old piece. It's an antique" seeder" I believe you would pour the seeds in the metal box on the side of this piece. Then you'd hold the handles OUT.push the metal end into the ground.then pull the handles together. When you pull the handles together.it makes the metal sticking into the ground"open" When it opens.it releases the seeds from the metal box down the metal tubing that runs from the box down and into the ground. At least.that's how I'm"guessing" ... moreit works. You can find these old"seeders" from time to time.but MOST of the ones we come across are either UNmarked OR were never marked to begin with(many crudely handmade ones out there) What makes THIS one so precious is that the markings are still MOSTLY COMPLETELY Visible. AND the original maker is easily researched. Arthur C. Kent was a local distiller in Janesville. Wisconsin in the late 1800's. In 1872 he came up with the idea for this" seeder" He patented the idea and began making the Kent Triumph hand corn planter. This was the official start of the A.C. Kent Company. He later also sold clothes wringers. Fanning mills, etc. I believe he operated up until about 1912 or 1913. I'd never held one of these things before.although I've seen pictures of them in old advertising. Here's a similar one I found listed on page 28 of the book"Primitives Our American Heritage" by Kathryn M. McNerney: AND I've seen a few come up for sale before. This was found in a home and has been stored inside that home for 25 years or more. My thought is that it is handmade from recycled materials. It is well made. Secure and sturdy. The end wood pieces measure 1/4" in thickness. Evidently it was made from an old produce box. The metal handle is an old pipe. Length- 22" Height- 9" Width- just under 6" Weight 2 lbs. 5 ounces It does have a light musty'aroma' I have only dusted it off. Not really cleaned it. Thank you. Up for auction is this great looking large bug sprayer/fogger. It has an Agway label on it. I am not sure if this was made by Agway or just distributed in their stores. However. Made in the USA. Just a wonderful country yellow color. Made of metal with 2 wood handles. The person I bought it from swears that the nozzle was always shaped that way. I do not know if this is true or if it was flattened on the tip sometime during its life. Still works as air comes through. With the plunger in, it measures approx. 27" long. Plunger extended measures 37" long. Widest point across container is 5 1/2" Wear, scrapes and dents with age, but you wouldn't expect differently for an item used in the fields! Vintage Metal Garden Hand Fork with Wood Handle
This vintage soil fork is made of wood and metal. The metal is rusted which just adds to its character! The wood is solid and in good shape. The metal is secure into the wood but the"tines" on the fork are bent. Must have been used alot in some hard soil! This measures 8 and 1/4 inches long. I love this piece. I have used it as a decorative piece lying on top of my garden books. It would also look great hung on a wall propped on a shelf.

Has three curved metal prongs. On each side, that hold the sweep-bar even. Has been very well taken care of. Does have some wear. Antique Wood Planter with Metal Insert Cottage Rose Collection
Very sweet vintage plant stand with metal insert. It can be used to hold plants or reverse the metal insert it and it makes a nice display table. I have not put holes into it so if you want it to drain for live plants that will be simple enough to do. 30 inches tall x 28 long and 11.5 inches deep. It has been painted a butternut squash yellow and linen white using Benjamin Moore Paint. This can be shipped but since the first of the year prices for shipping has gone up. It has some surface rust but is in good condition. There are no nicks in the blade. The handle part is made of wood and measures 6” long. There are a couple of cracks in the wood handle.
