It is straight not bent or out of round. It has some rubber loss on it. Mostly on the handle, shown a small crack in the rubber in the last picture. It has the heavy duty handle. It has some rusty spots, NOT major and NOT rusted through. Just want you to know. I think it was once red, but is now a faded light pink, and darker color on the underside of it. Vintage garden - woven wire mouse trap
Mouse trap C1900. Probably French. Outworker made. Base diameter 165. Height overall 100. The main frame of 2mm dia soft iron wire- along with the two entry funnels would have been made in a small back street factory. Women working from home would have these bare frames delivered together with coils of wire. The cage construction was then formed and bent into place with thin wire strand. This was very tedious work and hard on the hands. In extremely good condition probably never used. The trap was baited with a bit of cheese or bacon rind and the mice could enter via one of two funnels. To empty the trap there is a sliding door at the base. Vintage Flower Border This flower border appears to have never been used and comes with its original paper label. This border is from the Northwestern Steel and Wire Company in Sterling. Illinois, it is a plastic coated wire that is white in color(however it is dirty right now) According to the label it is 14" tall and a 25' roll and is color guard from Sterling. It has an item number of 13623, this wire does not appear to have ever been used but it has been stored away so it is no longer white and cover with dirt and dust, some of the rubber coating appears to be missing in places. This is a genuine antique farmers wire metal bushel basket on a stand. I'm guessing it was for picking some sort of fruit from trees so the picker could stand and reach and not have to crouch.
