At least 100 years, probably closer to 150. I don't see any like this on ebay now or in recent past. This one is different than the norm. Amazing Estate Find! Condition is very good with normal paint chips. Very little rust on this one. No Cracks or Breaks. Marked 13 on the back. Measures 30 x 19 inches and stands 10 inches from the wall. Use as a planter or easily convert back to a fountain. Love the tiny skull right at the top center of the white area. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. Antique CHINESE GREEN GLAZE POTTERY 25" Fountain Garden HERON STATUE 1910 RARE
An unusual antique green glaze pottery figure of a heron. This is unmarked. But most certainly Chinese, circa 1910. The bird figure is a rare LARGE size. I bought this at an estate sale nearly 30 years ago in Menlo Park, CA. The mediterranean style house was constructed in 1911, and still held hundreds of original items, many of which were oriental. This bird figure was at the edge of a fish pond, and had a water feature that made water stream through the narrow slits in the pottery"reeds" around the herons feet and legs. If you look at the close up photo of the base, you can see where this was anchored to the edge of the fish pond with dabs of concrete. The heron is depicted standing among reeds as if in a swamp or a pond. It is a rare and spectacular piece of Chinese pottery. Great decorator piece inside or out. MEASURES: approx. ... more25" tall and it is approx. 17" at the widest point.from the back to the beak. CONDITION:GOOD+.it has a firing split on the inside. Which BARELY shows on the outside, and this happened during the manufacturing. It is very typical of this type of ware, and pottery collectors realize this.it is NOT damaged. The outside glaze around the base has some water deposits and calcium build up. It of course can be removed, but it indicates years of use.no chips, damage cracks, or repairs.see all pics. DESCRIPTION: This estate worthy vintage Fish Fountain is the perfect size measuring 14" tall x 8" deep and 6" wide weighs a heavy 19 lb s. Give or take. This sculpture also has most amazing detail as the fish appears to be leaping from the surf. Which makes it the ideal spitter. I found this piece nearly 12 years ago. We were refurbishing and old castle ... moreon the west side of Tucson and the proprietors had tossed away some garden relics and lucky me I was in the right place at the right time and salvaged the original antique. I can only estimate the original was more than 50 years old. And maybe even better than the detail is the traditional creamy antique white coloring. Very sophisticated color! But best of all is the texture. The pocking and pitting from decades of erosion are truly amazing. But unlike the original antique which was clearly deteriorating. This casting is secure and 100% intact. Best of all. It is not made of chintzy resin or chippy plaster but is solid cement stone so it is 100% operable and completely safe to display outdoors. Please Note: The opening is from the center of the mouth and through the bottom. I am sure I have hose in my garden shed. If you would like some just ask, there's no charge. Antique Granite Trough Japanese zen garden planter stone water basin fountain
Hi this'buy it now auction' is for 1 Antique Granite trough. This stone trough measures close to 40"s long by approximately 18" wide. 11" high and has roughly an 6.5"+-inside depth. The trough is in very nice condition and has a drain hole in the bottom side, there was another drain hole in the bottom middle but has been plugged as seen in the pictures. We occasionally find more these but they are becoming quite scarce. Originally used on farms for feeding animals. This beautiful item now makes an excellent garden planter, accent piece or water feature. This fountain is stamped on the bottom Bowl with the Garanti Villedieu Margue Deposee(trademark) Lavabos were originally used in French homes before running water was available. The upper reservoir would be filled with water and then dispensed with the valve as needed. And the lower basin would catch the waste water. These fine copper basins also make excellent garden fixtures as fountains. Truly Splendid. Unique and excellent stamping throughout this beautiful piece: On the front. A pair of lions stand on both sides of a crowned Urn, adourned with detailed scrolling, fruits and leaves. Throughout the piece. Stamped embossed detailing around the base of the sink bowl, top and bottom ... moreof the upper reservoir and lid. All of the stamping matches with the piece Two brass spouts. Without the valves. Brass wall hangers on the back of the bowl and reservoir. Both stamped made in France. Two copper handles on either side of the bowl. Wonderful copper finials on top of the lid. Up for Auction is an Antique Lead Cherub Garden Fountain I believe this fountain is English. And form the 1880's- 1900. I've seen this on the web, and most say that they were made in England. In the late 1800's. It looks as though the Cherub is holding a flower atop his head. Which is where the water spews out into the flower, and spills over in front of the Cherub. I think the fountain should be in the center of a water feature. As a main attraction. The fountain is in overall very good condition. I think it will need to be re-plumbed. The water feed tube has been flattened over time. This fountain is very heavy. About 70 pounds. The fountain stands approximately 31 Inches Tall. Beautiful rare antique masonry wall garden fountain. Excellent condition with no cracks or noticeable repairs. We recently removed this from a Victorian home in New England. The pedestal base is 30" high. 5.5" wide, 7" deep and weighs 50 lbs. The bowl is 19" wide, 14" from front to back, and 8" tall. It weighs 61 lbs. The back-splash with lion's head is 18" high, 15" wide and 2" thick. It weighs 23 lbs. Altogether it is 56" high, 19" wide, and 14" from front to back, and weighs 134 lbs. It comes with 2 brass spigots, either of which should have a backplate added for looks and ease of usage. It is too heavy to ship via UPS or USPS. Great Patina! Large"Devil Cherub" Face fountain. The color is natural. Weathered cement, all original! There is a hole in the back where the tubing goes. The water comes out the mouth. The fountain tubing and supplies does not come with the piece but can be found at most home improvement stores and garden centers. A great piece for any antique. Vintage Cement Jug Boy Cherub Child Garden Statue Fountain Beautiful 52 lbs
Here is a beautiful garden statue of a young child sitting on a jug. I have seen this statue referred to as Jug Boy. This was purchased at an estate auction so I am unsure of the actual origin or age of the piece. Though it is in beautiful condition. I do not know if the gold is the original finish or if it has been restored, but it is lovely. There are some small chips of paint gone here and there, but overall it is wonderful. It has the hole in the base and the hole in the bottom of the jug to be set up as a fountain. What I found most unusual is the weight of this piece- it is extremely heavy and weighs over 52 lbs! It stands about 22" tall. Because of the weight, I am hesitant to ship, so am listing this as local pickup only. This is what I believe to be the base of a fountain that was either made by Fiske or possibly Mott. I can find no marks on it. The dimensions are as follows: It is 66" in diameter. The center opening is 46" It is 5 1/2" deep. And 11" wide. It is made of cast iron, and the two pieces weigh approx. 150 to 200 pounds each. The two pieces bolt together. It does need sandblasted, and painted, but would be beautiful for either a fountain, a fish pond or maybe even a fire pit. I took a close up picture of one of the pieces on the back side that you would use to pick this up with a crane or something else. I also saw where someone had taken it apart and used the two halves as arches. They welded each half on the top of antique cast iron poles. Gave a great effect. There is some damage which I took pictures of. There is one section ... morethat's broken out. Which needs to be welded back in, and a piece of flat metal welded back on the top. I think my pictures will show what needs done. There is a small amount of cement residue on the back side. Which leads me to believe what was done the last time it was used was someone poured concrete and then set this down on the concrete slab, which would create a pond for a fountain. I'm assuming that's how it got the chips broken off, and the piece broken out, when they were probably trying to pry it off the concrete. That's just my guess. I'm not really sure what the shipping would be. But I'm sure it would be fairly expensive. I will assist whoever buys it in trying to find someone to delivery it. The shipping will be the sole responsibility of the buyer, but I will do all I can to help find a company.
