This is for the Antique Vintage Chandler Co. Cast Iron Well Cistern Pump pictured only. This was a recent estate sale find. When I aquired this item something about it just did not look right. After looking it over I realized that it was manufactured without a spout. It is missing the pump rod and since it has no spout there probably should be more to it. But i don't know what it would be. This will not stand up on its own and will need to be supported in some way. This has a lot of surface rust but there are some very small areas where the original red paint is showing through. I have looked this over and everything moves as it should and could not find any cracks, breaks, or welds. This item will be partially disassembled for a safer and more cost effective shipping. A just out of the crate GEM chain pump[ patent date Aug 25 1903] It measures 37" tall and the cap is 6 1/2" wide by 14" long. I cleaned off 100 years plus of dust off of it. Looking at the pictures you can see that the handle and spout and other hardware was hanging from a wire down inside of it. Everything on the pump is in excellent condition. No broken or bent pcs. I put it all together and it turns like it should, but it could use just a little oil. On the top part one can see some of the packing paper still stuck on it. I never used anything but water to clean it up, so if someone uses the right cleaning solution on this pump it would look even better. The outside housing is galvanized steel, it does have some blemishes on it, but I seen no dents or rust. I do not have the chain part that somehow runs on the wheel to bring ... moreup the water, so I would have to say this pump is for decorative purposes only. The packing crate would go with it. This wonderful Antique hand water well pump is marked F.E. Myers& Bro Ashland O for Ohio. It's is stamped with No. 2446. The main body measures 26” tall and 20” wide with central cylinder 7" diameter. The original handle is 44" long and the parts move. It has been mounted on a wooden plank as shown in photos. I have not tested this with water so sold as seen. I see no chips or cracks to the cast iron and seem to be in good condition. The paint is cracked. Flaking in places and there is a little surface rust. It has been stored in a dry barn for decades hence the unusual good condition of the paint and body. This is a fantastic piece. Antique Vintage Deming Co Salem O Cast Iron Well Cistern Hand Pump For Display
This is for the antique vintage Deming Co Salem O cast iron well cistern hand pump pictured. I have added 12 pictures total with the last 2 showing the measurements. There are some broken and damaged areas on this pump and the worst are shown in the 8th. 9th, and 10th pictures. The 8th picture shows one of the ears on the handle mount is broken off so the handle is held in place by one ear only. It can be made to move up and down by not tightening the bolt all the way. The 9th picture shows a cut across the top of the spout. The 10th picture shows the bolts on the top cap that are broken or deteriorated. Because the bolts are broken the top cap is stuck in place and will not move. There are a couple of old layers of paint and rusty areas but I do think this would make a nice display piece. For sale is an impressively large and old hand water pump marked W& B Douglas and Patented 1842. The pump itself measures 29 1/2" tall by 12" deep(back of base to end of spout) and 19" wide(edge of left base to right end of handle) There is a 28 1/2" long pipe attached to the base of the pump. The pump is untested and there is light surface rust on the base. Handle, and handle support. We have not tried to remove the lower pipe. The pump is painted bright green, which we believe is not the original paint. In good antique condition: No breaks, cracks, or repairs. A genuine farm antique. 32" Antique Water Well Pump Hand-Crank 1902 Green Refurbished D.E.P.Co Cast Iron
Pump Antique Water Well green Antique Water Well Pump Circa 1902"Improved Little Giant Force Pump" Hand-Crank Gear-Driven Domestic Engine& Pump Co. 32 Inches Tall Professionally Refurbished Handle Made Of Wormy Chestnut(Antiqued) This is one of the earliest known hand-cranked water pumps that features the gear-driven components. Before I reconditioned the pump I also lathed this new replacement handle which is made of Native American Chestnut. It is a piece of wood reclaimed from an old barn. I antiqued it by doing some burning and some high speed grinding. Then added some pings and dings for character. I then added teak oil and finished it off with polyurethane for waterproofing. The photo above shows the six cast iron components after all loose rust and scale had been removed in preparation for paint. I pressed on a 10" ... morefiberglass rod over the rusted"dip-stick" so as to prevent it from slipping out when cranking handle. The embossed words throughout the pump reads"Etter's Improved Little Giant Force Pump" Patented May 20, 1902" Mfg. Domestic Engine and Pump Co. Shippensburg Pa. and"Canada Patent 1902. Some words are hard to make out from age wear. The pump generally measures 32 inches in length and will have a shipping weight of 35 pounds. FREE SHIPPING on this behemoth! The bottom of the pump where it connects to the main ground pipe(or your connecting pipe) is 1-7/8" diameter pipe threaded on the end for connecting to this pump. There are many options for incorporating a handsome base piece that can hide the ground pipe. Notice in the picture above. The black pipe screwed into the bottom of the spigot body. This does not come with the auction. For a couple of dollars, the winning bidder will provide their own mounting pipe. It is 1-7/8" diameter and can be purchased at any hardware store for a couple of bucks. After removing loose rust and scale. Very Unique Vintage Antique Cast Iron Hand Cistern Well Water Pump. Great condition with no breaks or repairs to the cast. Nice black aged patina to the pump with some light rust here and there. Primer cap turns off easily and the pump handle is free. 15" tall and stands on a 7" triangle shaped base. No maker marks or numbers. This pump was resting in a north Florida field for at least forty years. Confirmed. The inscription on the base looks to read"Patent 1879" which would make it one of the earliest pumps created by F.E. Myers. I have not attempted to"clean it up" I can't forget the story of the woman who"cleaned" a sculpture. Depreciating its value by millions of dollars! ANTIQUE CAST IRON WATER WELL PITCHER SPOUT FROM WOODEN HAND PUMP
Here is a very old cast iron spout from an antique wooden hand well pump. It measures about 7" long without the pail handle hook and has an outside diameter of 2 1/4" across with threading. A rather crude casting with the letter"J A" on it. My husband buffed off the worst of the rust. Use it to recreate this old wood pump or find a new use.
