It is an incomplete vintage Metlox ... morePoppytrail Old Mill with a water wheel. About 12 inches long and 6 1/4 inches high, and 8 1/2 inches wide at the widest. It has a basin to hold water that, when filled, flows over a water wheel that turns. Missing is the large ceramic dish that fits under the entire piece and holds water for the pump. Water is pumped from under the unit by a pump inside the log cabin that fills the basin; while I have not used water, when I plug the unit in, it looks like it works fine. Still has two original Metlox Poppytrail labels on the roof of the cabin and one on the side of the basin, and a pump label on the cabin front. Excellent condition; the only damage I can see are two very tiny chips on the bottom edge of the cabin front that aren't visible when the cabin is put on its base. Unusual and awesome. The thick rim measures almost 1" making the full top measurement 12" the top opening is 10" Height is 8" weight is 9 lbs, 4 ounces. There is a drainage hole so a potted plant can be dropped right in or a saucer can be used to catch water. The color is a dark terra cotta. The white showing on the outside is mineral deposits and it highlights the very pretty ornate design of leaves and small rectangles. Based on where this was purchased it is possible that this is hand thrown by a pottery expert at Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. I partially polished the outside of piece. The inside still has the original patina. It's kind of a nice combination. I have included pictures of the sprinkler working. Vintage Galvanized Washtub: Garden Art, Planter 13-1/2" X 8"
This is a smaller-than-some zinc wash tub. Measuring 13-1/2" in diameter X 8" deep. It has been used a lot and it shows, especially on the inside. It has two sturdy handles that lift up and down and seems to be structurally sound. It does, however, have some rust on the inside bottom that does not go through to the outside so I cannot guarantee with absolute certainty that it would be water tight. I HAVE NOT TESTED IT. This type of tub is often used as a party cooler; this one would be kind of small for that purpose but with the addition of a garbage bag liner would do the trick if one so wished. Up for bid are two Rain King lawn sprinklers. The parts move but it has not been tested. They are colored green and the parts are brass. The sprinkler shaft on both measures 6" The base is 8" and has four anchor holes. Each is embossed Rain King on both sides of the circle by the spout curve. They are also embossed with Chicago Flexible Shaft Co. U.S.A. on one side of the sprinkler shaft. 1. Model G-2 shown on the hose connection. On the other side of the sprinkler shaft is- Des. Lot of 8 Vintage Garden Signs Flower Shop Spikes Signs Yellow Here's a cool lot of vintage signs for you! They were flower shop used- these were signs that went inside of the pot with the cut flowers to identify the flower anf the price. There's 8 of them. And each is made of the same yellow colored hard plastic, and the sign end is covered with what appears to be a thick, black paper that has a chalkboard finish. You can see that some still have the remnants of the hand written names of the flowers in chalk. Now, I'm not expecting that you have a flower shop to use these in, but I did think that they would make fabulous signs for you- indoors or out. They have spikes on the bottom end so they are perfect for the ground. I would label them, and then apply a thick coat of shellac to protect the label and the sign from the elements, ... moreand then put outside in the garden. You would need to do that in order for the chalkboard part of the sign to last outside. They are so worth the minimal effort, though. Each one measures 19 1/2" long top to bottom and the sign end is 6 1/4" wide by 3 3/4" tall. They are all in excellent solid and sturdy condition. All are used dirty, and could use a good cleaning, I do not mess with as found patina in any way. Tis the season! Customer satisfaction is extremely important to me.
