Be sure to add me to your! This 1912 MAP OF THE GREATER METROPOLITAN ARE OF SAN FRANCISCO and is based on the 1910 U.S. Census when San Francisco's population was 700.000. It was published after the great San Francisco earthquake. This black and white map with a black mat gives details on roads, oceans, railroads, the elevated RR, steamlines, cities, harbors, ferries, etc. It is framed in a beautifully grained old oak flat frame 2 1/2 inches wide, dark stained. Antique Map of San Francisco from 1901 New Census Atlas
Antique Map of San Francsico Map of San Francisco from the New Census Atlas published in 1901 by George F. Cram. A publisher with offices in New York City and Chicago. Illinois. The map is a double page of continuous paper with a binding strip on the back for insertion in the hard bound book and measures paper size 14 ½” by 22 ¼” with a 13 ½” by 20 ¼” image. The top edge of the map includes Fort Point and the map extends to the West End Syndicate and Bay Park Homestead. It includes Golden Gate Park. Rancho Laguna, Ingleside Race Track and University Mound. There are two small tears. One on the bottom fold and one about an inch to the right, with small folds at two upper corners not affecting the image. The back of the double truck is printed with the maps of Seattle and Dallas. There is naturally a fold in the center from ... morethe book but it is printed on one continuous piece of paper. There is yellowing at the edges of the paper but the paper is clean otherwise. Vintage 1968 Reprint San Francisco Panama-Pacific Exposition 1915 Exposition Map
Here is a beautiful aerial perspective illustration map- sometimes called a" Bird's Eye View" of the city of San Francisco as it appeared circa 1912. This print is actually a 1968 reprint of an original drawing of San Francisco made about 1912 to commemorate the Panama Pacific Exposition held in San Francisco. There was also a Panama Pacific Exposition held in SF. CA in 1915, but dating on the print indicates that this view commemorates the 1912 Exposition. The print was produced and distributed by First Savings and Loan Association to commemorate the opening of the First Savings Building in Sansome(I believe a section of)San Francisco. Perhaps a native of the Bay City can add more to this history) The original drawing, according to the narrative at the bottom center outside the print. Is from the collection of the Society of ... moreCalifornia Pioneers. The geography of this perspective is the city of SF proper. San Francisco Bay. And the Golden Gate looking east to west as if you are flying over downtown San Francisco from Harward toward the Pacific. The map is very attractive. Unfortunately, it has problems at the corners where it was at one time taped and/or placed in a frame and/or hung on a wall(please read the Description Section where I go into some detail on the condition) All of the corner issues are outside the framing line within the white space. There is also a small about 1/8" rip at the bottom center into some of the narrative. And a larger about 1 1/2" rip on the bottom right that does go into the drawing(see Photo 9) There is also a 1/2" rip at center on the left edge. But completely off the illustration. The print is a litte dusty, but this can be handled with a soft cloth. Still with these blemishes this is a beautiful print and I believe quite scarce even though it was reprinted in 1968, especially east of the Mississippi. If re-framed, this would look fine and give the look of an antique bird's eye view. I will ship it free and rolled in a tube. No international bidde

This large detailed map of San Francisco is dated 1912. It is from the 1913 Rand McNally Commercial Atlas. It measures 28 X 20 inches. Would look fantastic framed under glass. Shadows seen are my scanner. Not the map. According to worldcat.org. The only known copy of the 1913 Rand McNally Commercial Atlas is in the Smithsonian's collection. Printed on quality paper which retains its inherent structural flexibility and soundness. In near VG or better condition. Minor light surface age wear and faint toning, which is mostly confined to the blank margin, but the map remains clean and attractive[note: we grade very conservatively and always seek to disclose any noteworthy flaws] The printed area remains visually pleasing. A nice impression of an interesting vintage map. Different map is on the back, removed from a rarely found old atlas printed in Germany between the two World Wars. Any minor defects along the sheet edges and in the margins may be seen in the photos. Sheet measures c. 10 3/4" W x 17 1/8" H. This map of San Francisco has copyright 1906 on its face. It is pre-earthquake as the hotels named were destroyed during the earthquake and fire. And most not rebuilt. It is from the 1910 Rand McNally Enlarged Business Atlas. It measures 28 X 20 inches. It wasn't until 1911 that Rand McNally had been furnished up to date city maps. So they simply published and republished the last known map they had of the City. A single copy can be found in all enlarged Business Atlases up to 1911, when the name was changed to The Commercial Atlas. If you scroll down on the last scan. You will see the copyright date of 1906. Would look fantastic framed under glass. Imagine this map displayed in a professionals waiting room. Shadows seen are my scanner. Not the map. According to worldcat.org. vintage 1921 E-Z guide map of San Francisco
1921 E-Z Guide Map of San Francisco published and copyrighted 1921 by Fred B Bain Inc. S.F. advertising The First National Bank of San Francisco. Map is in excellent condition with only a red 1-A written in the upper right corner of the front of the map. No tears. No fading, great color. I inherited several hundred maps. Lithographs and blue prints from my uncle who was in the blue print business in Palo Alto, California in the 1970's. His collection of maps mostly all have red(and blue) reference numbers for filing written on them so my best guess is that they were used as reference maps for newer maps and just general infomation for the business. I will slowly be listing the collection most of which pertain to California and in particular the San Francisco and Stanford(Palo Alto) areas. I have sold some items through Pacific Books Auction ... moregallery that were well received so my feeling is these are very collectable.

antique San Francisco map advertising the Harder furniture co (1910)
Awesome map of San Fracisco area with great advertisement regarding the F.H. Harder Manufacturing co. Look at pic's closely. Found a copy in the UC Berkley liabrary published by the Thomas Bros. map publishers and they put a date of 1910 on it. Map is in good condition but does have 1- A written in blue on the front right corner and a red line and an 8 in the left hand upper corner and some browning in the middle of the front that you can see but none on the back advertising the furniture.
