GEOLOGIC QUADRANGLE MAPS OF THE UNITED STATES SPECIAL FIELD EDITION GEOLOGY OF THE HAMM CANYON QUADRANGLE COLORADO by Fred W. Cater. Jr. 1955 NO TE: My camera batteries died so I'll be uploading the proper photos of this map tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. Description: Here is the United States Geological Survey bifold quadrangle information and map from 1955. Detailing an area in the Colorado Plateau of the western United States. This large(24 inches by 30 inches) publication was designed for use in the field by geologists and mining professionals. The publication folds open like a book with the first page being detailed information on regional geology. Stratigraphy, structure. and mineral deposits(including mineralogy and ore deposits) The second page is a much larger version of a USGS quadrangle map. Normal use quads measure 17 ... moreinches by 21 inches. Legends. Scale bars, etc. are also enlarged. These special edition field quadrangles were developed by the United States Geological Survey. United States Atomic Energy Commission, Colorado Geological Survey Board, and Colorado Metal Mining Fund Board. This region of the Colorado Plateau is in the Uranium-Vanadium Belt and was heavily explored and developed in the years following WWII. This was the Cold War and exploiting the rich uranium deposits found the sedimentary lithologies of the Colorado Plateau was a high priority for the United States. This map is from the Geological Sciences Map Room at Harvard University in Cambridge. Massachusetts. These are marked"Discard. Payment: I accept payment through Paypal only.
