A beautifully executed combination of colored topographical land elevations depicted by height with red overprinted railroad lines which have been extensively referenced across the map. Along the side or bottom is a key of boxes. Where each color represents a range of heights. Thus, when viewing the map, you quickly see the topographical nature of the state. Delicately overprinted in red near the title and across the state are the extensive range of railroad lines then in operation. Printed in the very early 20th century. The map is about 6" by 3.5" folded up and features great covers with pictures of the hotel and the apartments. Further opening up the brochure shows wonderful views of the Lobby and the Rest Room. Opening up another panel shows a small map and next to that advertises the Braeburn Apts and says they are on Sutter Street between ... moreJones and Leavenworth. A very successful New York City tax lawyer traveled widely in the 1930's to the 50's. He left much travel memorabilia which I came to own from his daughter's estate. This is like a look back in time. A vintage map of San Francisco County and City from the late 40's or early 50's. Form M-129) Some small holes along fold lines. Still in good condition and nice sized at 26 1/2" x 21 1/2" Back side of map shows street names and a very nice"downtown section" It would look great on an office wall.

It provides a great way to track the changes that have occurred over the last 44 years. Please be aware that the Maps I sell are anywhere from 10 to 90 years old. They are printed on paper that is not acid free and in most cases have not been stored in the best way. So some of the maps you are buying may be in a condition that reflects both of these facts. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders and fold lines of the maps may also have tears. Big detailed map of the Crescent City area of the California Coast. This maps shows the soundings in feets at mean low water. The map was published in Washing. D.C. in 1949 and looks like it was sold by Geo E. Butler Co. in San Francisco. The date of sale could be Feb 11, 1952 which is stamped in purple in the same color ink used to stamp a new price over the old price and to stamp the circle showing due north, latitude and longitude and also dated 1952. Purple ink date on back of Aug. 6, 1951 too. 28 1/2" square on heavy paper. One small corner is missing, otherwise no tears. Please contact me with any questions before you bid.
