Traveling was long, hard, and exhausting. People would literally live out of these trunks as they traveled for weeks and sometimes months on end. Thus. They were built with quality and built to last, which is why they have stood the test of time! The craftsmanship that went into the construction and design of theses ole’ trunks are truly nothing short of spectacular. I recently discovered this wardrobe trunk buried in the rafters in the attic of a local farm house estate in a in nearby town. It stopped me dead in tracks and I had to literally pick my jaw up off the floor! There was no way I was leaving without this trunk. And lucky for me I had hubby to carry it out of the attic and down 3 flits of stairs! And now for the decription… This is a nice authentic period Wardrobe steamer trunk. It is signed on the exterior by the maker Oshkosh Trunk Company. I am unsure of the exact age. But it was clearly left where I had found it for a very very long time. If I had to guestimate I would say it is likely from the early 20 th century. It measures 40 x 22 x 20 inches and weighs 75 pounds respectfully. The exterior is covered with what appears to be a volcanized material with dozens of original brass. Nails, knobs Hinges, Lock and hardware. The lock comes with key and functions as designed. On the interior right side. The trunk has 5 wood drawers with original deco drawer pulls and covered in swanky antique fabric. Vintage Steamer Trunk FLEUR DE LIS Shabby Chic French Art Table Trunk REFINISHED
Gorgeous Fleur De Lis Trunk. Excellent Trunk to use as a coffee Table. End table, or as a blanket chest, under a window, or at the end of a bed! French inspired. The fleur de lis is painted and outlined with brass daisy oxford tacks. The entire top of the trunk is also outlined with the tacks. And the sides is accented with tacks. The tacks not only make the trunk more appealing. But also re-inforced it's strength as well! Although this is a medium size trunk(30in long x 16.5in and 14.5in tall) it is one of the well made and sturdiest trunks I have come across. When strpping the paper from the inside the wood underneath was stamped with a logo. Inside a diamond shape it said'the model brand' and also a co name, but all that could be read still was.ada bros. brodway' the rest of the name and address couldn't be made out, ... morevery unusual however, especially under the paper! The trunk has been placed upon wooden legs. This was done before I recieved the trunk, thought it was unique and the legs were well put on, so I left them as they were. The legs are screwed on from the inside so they are in no danger of coming off. Also if you are interested in using as a table, this makes the trunk even more like a table. A clear piece could be placed on top of the trunk. But also the trunk could be used as is for a table, as any roughing to the top would add the the shabby chicness, also the trunk has been clear coated. Very excellent condition other than normal issues due to age. The locking mechanism of trunk was removed somewhere slong it's journey. The latches are in good working condition. The strap in the front is missing. Could be replaced if desired. The hinge inside is still present. The inside has been re-lined with very very good high quality material from hancock fabrics. Two coordinating material were used. The materials were picked to compliment the outside of the trunk. Great French art inspired One Of a Kind Original Trunk! Bal Fibre-Fifty Cabin Trunk
This trunk is in pretty good shape. I listed it in fair condition because it isn' t perfect. But then how many items from this era are.My main goal is a satisfied buyer and positive feedback. There is no pull out tray and the lock is missing. All of the metal corner pieces are in pretty good shape and it has all of the handles.There are no tears on the outside. One corner of the liner is loose on the inside of the lid. From what I could find out this trunk appears to have been manufactured in the 1940's.

The trunk has been gibraltarized which is a patented Hartmann process ensuring the steel frame is strong and durable. Vintage Steamer Trunk - estimated 1900 To 1950 - unrestored antique
You will find this to be a beautiful piece. The condition is a bit rough but as expected for an item that has been used extensively. Imagine this being loaded onto a train car in the early 1900's or a Cruise Ship in the 1950s. I consider it to be in working condition though since the hinges and latches still work. However the key is missing. Some of the leather straps are missing as well but can be replaced for a reasonable price. This would be perfect for use in your entryway. Or for a coffee table or end table. Rare find with the two original cloth covered interior trays. Has Norwegian American Cruise Line Decals on the top and sides marked 1959. Obtained at an estate sale. Do not know the history but it is a really unusual and a very early piece. Not sure of age but appears to be 19th century. Is painted gray all over and painted with scenes over top, front and one side. Other sides were started but not finished. On the top in the painting of the girl the date of 1948 has been painted in. On the left side someone has signed their initials. Please see photos for description. Dovetailed all over, in good condition has a split that has been repaired on the back of the lid. The inside is in great condition. Measures 18 inches deep, 34 inches wide and 16 inches tall. Corbin steamer trunk - 1930's
This is a Corbin Cabinet Lock Co steamer trunk from the early 20th century. Not sure of exact date. But railway tag is labeled 1935. Has owners initials painted on the side(G.U.W. as well as'Brooklyn, NY' Cast iron hasps are decorative and labeled'4' The lock is in very good condition and appear to have been hand finished with a technique resembling engine turning. Has several travel tags attached. Interior is cloth lined, the top tray has gone missing some time ago. This would make a great restoration project or it has plenty of character as is! All the leather straps are worn out. But all of the nails are there. Wood runners are in good condition as are the hardware. No Key. Very old trunk. I got it from an elderly friend of mine-in her 90's. The trunk belonged to her aunt-so it has to be at least a hundred years old if not more. It is 19 inches wide. 13 1/4 inches deep, 32 inches long. Lid is 3 1/2 inches deep and inside is 9 inches from the edge to bottom. The trunk is wood with metal bottom with 3 2 inch brace boards for support. There are metal bands for support on all edges and corners.The bottom and lid have a crack length wise. Leather handles on side rotted off. Back and front leather straps are rotted off. Has original hardware and hinges- front and back. Missing hinge on left side inside lid. It's in excellent condition for it's age. Needing only a few touch-ups. Some of the'Gold' that is on top& bottom of chest including the legs needs touching up where it has flaked off. The top is nice& smooth although there's 3 tiny little'pits' size of the point on a tooth pick. Much can be found on Google about this. This trunk is quite unique. As it had the names of the men in the barracks written on the wood in pencil. The first name, which might have been the owner was A. Tursici of West Bridgewater, Mass. This was# 116 Company of Millers Falls Massachusetts They were located 3 miles from Wendell State Forest. The program was developed to preserve Americas natural resources. We were able to date the locker from the#116. The Civilian Conservation Corps(CCC) was a public work relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the United States for unemployed. Unmarried men from relief families, ages 18–25. A part of ... morethe New Deal of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, it provided unskilled manual labor jobs related to the conservation and development of natural resources in rural lands owned by federal, state and local governments. The CCC was designed to provide employment for young men in relief families who had difficulty finding jobs during the Great Depression while at the same time implementing a general natural resource conservation program in every state and territory. vintage set of 2 childs overnight suit case doll suitcase These are 2 vintage small child's suitcase or overnight case. They are both made of wood and covered with paper. The handles are made of plastic. The smaller case is a cream color with silver speckles on it. There is a water mark on the outside and some of the paper on the inside has peeled up. There is wear along the edges and corners to the paper covering. It measures about 15 inches wide. 9.5 inch's tall, and 5.5 inches deep. The second case is larger and dark brown one. It is covered in paper and there is a water mark on the inside along with some paper peeled up. There is also wear on the outside mostly on the edges. It measures 18 inches wide. 10 inches tall and 5 inches deep. The cases don't have any musty or mold smell. They are a little worn but would make a great ... morephoto prop or in a room with vintage decor. These are usable items. Please look at all the pictures. ANTIQUE HARTMANN TRUNK / CHEST GREAT BLACK INDUSTRIAL / MACHINE AGE LOOK
This trunk is spectacular. It is a high quality Hartmann trunk. I am uncertain of the exact age. But I am confident that it dates to the earlier part of the 1900s. The exterior is hardshell and the finish has great patina. The interior is rather interesting. It has a galvanized metal insert. I am not certain the purpose of this, but it possibly speaks to anticipated rough handling of the case. Maybe this was designed for airline or train travel. I thought about an ice box however, there is no insulation in the galvanized insert. The overall exterior measurements of the case are 28" x 9 1/2" x 18" The logo is mostly intact and indicates a Racine, Wisconsin address. There is only one handle on the case and it is in good shape. Two are missing. There is a partial sticker on the side that looks like it said American Trident Lines. ... moreI am not sure what that is. Captain's U.S. Army Trunk (Footlocker) WWII APO Hawaii with tray
Labeled APO 959[ Hawaii] Capt. Heyward M. McAnallen"Joining the United States Army Air Corps in 1940. He was stationed at Hickam Field, Hawaii on December 07, 1941. He later served in North Africa and England. Following World War II he was stationed in Japan, Germany, and various bases in the United States. He retired in 1970 after thirty years of service. There is no damage to this trunk apart from wear and tear involved in moving it around the world. I take that back- the leather straps are broken. But the tray is like new and the wooden bottom is completely intact. It smells nice. The paper address labels have a kind of extra blue adhesive underneath, but, I have not tried to remove or clean them off. Posted with Posted with

If you love old suitcases then this is the one for you. A Nan Hing Chinese Leather Suitcase Circa 1912-1915. It still has the old label inside which is quite surprising really as it has spent the last 12 years in an outside barn on a Cornish farm. I have cleaned it up as best I can but it of course could perhaps do with some expert restoration.
