It was my great aunt's and has been in her home for as long as anyone in my family can remember. I've looked everywhere and can not see any manufacturer's mark anywhere on it. The top swivels far enough to open if fully(about 1/4 of a turn) It has a peg that stops it- If the peg were removed, it would probably swivel completely around. The base of this wonderful glass top table is a vintage treadle sewing machine. The sewing machine base is black metal. And it measures 16 1/4" deep, 20 1/4" long, and 28 1/2" tall. The glass top measures 22 3/4" wide by 29 3/4" long. This unique and lovely table could be used in many areas of the house. The table is for local pickup only. Antique Solid Bronze Ornamental End Table w/Glass Top, W H Howell (?) circa 1929
With a little research I found out this ornate solid bronze table was patented in 1929. By Edward E. Ekvall who represented the W.H. Howell Co. It is a 10 piece assembely which is fastened together with brass screws and the acorn finial in the center. It is a very ornate yet sturdy table with a wonderful patina, and each leg and the top ring are stamped"Pat. 78,457,and the number.587" There are some welds on the underneath sides of a pieces which appear to be repairs or reinforcements, but none can be seen when upright. It takes a glass insert for the table top, but the one that came with my purchase has been painted in a faux marble fashion(one may wish to scrape clean/ replace/ or leave as is) The table without the glass is 24 lbs. of SOLID bronze and it measures 20 1/2"W x 18"T. Lovely, Victorian style, caned top glass covered coffee/side table-oak
I am not sure how old it is. It was purchased in an antique shop and has been in a private home for 30 years. As you can see in the picture some of the caning is broken(I didn't even see it at first) but with the glass top it functions perfectly as a side table or coffee table. The oak is a pretty not- too- dark brown. The wood insert gives this piece a lot of interest. measurements are approx 3feet long by 18-20 inches wide and stands 2 feet tall. THIS CAN NOT BE SHIPPED. Vintage roses on vines metal table with glass top. This table belonged to my grandmother. It was her favorite piece as she was a rose aficionado and raised and showed roses her whole life. I took this vintage belber suitcase and built a base for it and put a thick piece of glass on top to protect it. I did not permanently attach them I didn't want to ruin the suitcase. So I used rubber stops to keep it from sliding around. I placed vintage postcards under the glass they can be taken out and put whatever you want under or nothing at all.
