It has heavy patina on the ... moreback of both brass trays. There is patina around all of the sides of the brass and in spots on the carved scenes. The wooden stand is in very good condition. It has some patina on the metal hinges. One of the legs has a missing supporting piece(about a 1 inch long little piece of wood) This piece can use some heavy cleaning. This table would have supported a lamp. This lamp is not included. Pleasingly solid brass trays are supported by a folding base to produce a two tier table. The piece is suitable both for permanent location or as on occasional table. When in folded position the table assumes very little space and can be slid under a sofa or such; in addition the gorgeous solid trays may be used on their own for serving and display purposes. The base is a six leg folding design with dragons head carvings to the upper. The trays display wonderful scense with floral and foliate detailing to the perimeter and a central engraving featuring oriental characters in traditional dress. Overall this peice of furniture is in good condition and will make a great addition to any setting. 20" tall approximately 17" width 10" wide lower tray 14" wide upper tray We are a non-profit store and this was a donation. We are fairly certain this is not a reproduction piece and is truly from the 1930's. We do not know much about this piece except for a previous Ebay listing of a very similar item that sold in the UK in Sept. 2012. The finish is original and in very good condition considering age. The wood shows minor signs of age and wear and is in very good condition. There are no chips. Looks like a rooster/chicken bird of some sor t carved legs. Two of the screws look like the original. The other leg ha s a newer screw replaced in that one. I do not know the age. Very Old Antique Candle Plant Primitive Table Walnut or Mahogany Wood Stand NR
This auction is for a very old candle/plant stand. It is from the 1800's. It has been in my family for many generations. I am not sure if it is walnut or mahogany. I was told it was walnut but just not sure how to tell. The photos show the condition of the stand. You can see on the top and the bottom of the top piece. It does come off and you can glue it permantly if you like. When I ship it I will wrap the round piece off of the stand and that will protect it better. I just left it as is. The top piece has some seperation in the wood and you can see on the bottom where it has been held together with old clips. It has a little area where the wood is chipped on the bottom rim. Please look at photo. I think the imperfections give it character due to the life it has had. I saw one very much like it in an antique shop in Winter Park Fl for ... more$275. It was always in the corner by the sitting room chairs at my great grandparents home. It was used to hold the calling cards of the visitors to the home. It is 33" tall and the round top is 11"x11" It has two really cute triangle shaped drawers with knobs. It is a nice old piece with a great rustic look about it. The finish has a great worn patina and gives it a great look for a country house or chabby chic living room. The top is made from 4 separate pieces of wood and there is some issues with the surface being a little uneven. There is a little give in one of the end piece boards. The piece is still sturdy and the top could hold a plant or vase but I would not put anything very heavy on it without tightening up the top some. I have left it as is because I like the inconsistency in the top as it shows age and gives character to the piece. We are pleased to offer this beautiful vintage plant stand or side/accent table. This stunning. Solid wood table features a carved roses and leaves on two sides of the table skirt. The finish is quite nice and the stand has been hand painted and glazed. The general color is taupe with a heavy over glaze of golden brown. The table top has a nice, hand painted, French Ribbon which continues around the perimeter. The caved rose and leaf medallions have also been painted. The leaves are green and the roses are a golden yellow. The table has long cabriole legs that have a gentle curvature. The table has a paper sticker attached under the top. The cats paw feet have very nice detail and I added a close up photo of each one plus they measure 16 inches apart from one another then this stands from the bottom of the cats paw feet to the top of its round wood top 27 3/4 inches. The iron is all original with nice patina and in nice condition but its wood top which is old plywood and measures 16 inches across its center has a crack in its center on the one side which shows in photo one. The table or stand is a 3 legged design. The legs are turned wood with carved scrolls in raised relief. The table top is deeply notched around the perimeter in a"pinwheel" type pattern. The top surface displays superb carved details. There are raised scrolls, which match the pattern of the legs, around the inside perimeter. The center features a trio of carved, raised flowers with stems and leaves. These are inset on a recessed surface which is encircled with a raised wood border. The top has either hand scraped or router marks for further interest. The table is a true work of art and it is finely crafted. I do not know the age of the table. Under the top, the table is assembled ... morewith flat screws. The leg attachments have Phillips head screws. I don't know if these are replacements. The wood is thick and substantial. This is a really pretty metal table or plant stand with 2 inlay marble pieces. The stand is about 30.5" tall and about 15.25" wide. The top marble piece is a little over 9"x9" The bottom marble piece is about 4.25"x4.25" The bottom marble has a couple of very small chips on it's edge. The top marble piece has scuffs from something being placed on it and a couple of hairline fractures maybe but it is still completely intact. The metal has a leaf pattern. A wonderful High End Historic Charleston Tea Table with tilt-top made by Baker Furniture. It is part of a series of Baker furniture that is called the Historic Charleston Collection. The pieces in this collection are copies of antique Southern Furniture so in that way it is to be understood as a reproduction. This being said. It is still a beautiful classic solid wood piece of furniture made by one of the finest American Furniture Makers, Baker. 18th Century Look Candle Stand/Table with Antique Top and Antique wood, Gorgeous
this piece looks like it's made from an 18th or early 19th century top…that's been joined to a base made of(also) antique wood…it's not an original intact 18th century piece of furniture. I'm pretty sure…but an assembled piece…with a GREAT look. The top is a single board…with lots of wear and patina…and the legs and base are sturdily and elegantly constructed.
