Art Deco style, window lock and keeper made by, Andersen, of Bayport, MN. The locks and keepers are made of steel. Originally. All parts were copper-plated and surprisingly, the parts retained the majority of their plating. The amount of plating varies from part to part; see the last 2 photos to compare. Antique window locks require you to turn their lever both clockwise and counter clockwise to lock and unlock the window. Andersen added a spring to their design to facilitate the unlocking process. Instead of having to grab the lever and turn it clockwise to unlock the window. ... moreJust a simple push will trigger the spring inside the lock to turn the lever back and unlock the window automatically. I don't think that it's such a difficult process to turn the lever clockwise to unlock; I think that Andersen was just trying to be innovative to get an edge on their competition. One of the problems with springs is that they break over time, and the locks are rendered to operating just like any other lock, without a spring. Of the 8 locks that are available for purchase, only 3 still have their springs intact. The other 5 will require you to lock and unlock, manually, just like any other old window lock. At the point of salvage they were found dirty and tarnished. Since then. We cleaned and polished each part, allowing the true beauty of the copper to show forth. All of the locks and keepers are in great shape with no breaks. Bends, cracks, gouges, or dents. The turn-levers swivel easily, and smoothly. Penn Antique Restoration. Pair of Vintage NOS Window Sash Finger Pulls. Beautiful. Vintage, window sash pulls salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. Each pull is made of stamped steel. The pulls are copper-plated and have a black lacquer finish(Japan" There are some spots where the lacquer wore off, and the steel formed a bit of rust. Nothing major and in my opinion, these spots add a nice, distressed touch to the elegant design of the pulls. These pulls are considered. New Old Stock, which means that they were made a long time ago, but were never used. As a result, they are in superb condition with no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or deep scratches.
