FAUX PAINTED SHABBY CHIC STYLE 6 PANE ANTIQUED VINTAGE WINDOW
Item: Faux Painted 6 pane"Shabby-Chic" Style Vintage Window Description: This auction is for a 6 pane Wooden-Window. I am a Faux Painter and painted this window to look old and very vintage. Overall. The color is various shades of Mauve with streaks of gold. Mauve is a light shade of burgundy. Not quite pink at all. And not purple. The window appears very aged with some spots more worn than others. Basically, the window appears as if it was once painted in mauve, then someone painted it in gold and what you are left with is a combination of both as time and weather did its thing to it. This method of faux painting is called“antiquing. Nothing is too uniform overall. I have made some spots appear more worn than others. Some areas are lightly crackled. Both sides are done using the same method but not completely identical. Lastly, ... moreafter the painting was done, I applied a thin coat of satin finish polyurethane for durability. It is NOT very shiny. It’s a very low luster sheen. In time, it will become even duller. The goal is to make the window appear as it aged naturally but have the confidence that the window is sound and is not going to fall apart since it really is a 30 year old window and not a 90 year old window as it now appears. Originally, the window is about from 1970. The window comes with a locking catch as well. It is also“antiqued. Many people use these windows as a decorative piece. They attach circle hooks and hang them with old chains in front of a natural light source, use them as cabinet doors or whatever you wish. The dimensions are as follows: 30” high and 19” wide. Each pane of glass measures 8.5” high and a bit more than 7” wide. The weight of the window alone is approx. 7 pounds. Other than that, I hope my pictures are worth a thousand words. Condition: The window is in complete sound condition. There are no cracks in the glass. The glass itself is great condition. There are some very minor scratches though. Here is a double hung window sash that was original to my 1953 house. I kept the sashes.Storm windows and screens because I know someone may want them. These windows are unusual because they are diptych style made horizontally NOT vertical type 2 pane windows. Either: what are these things for or FINALLY I found them! I was the latter. These aluminum clips are for old barn or possibly basement windows to hold in glass(or plexiglass in my case) in the old metal frame windows. My one barn(used to be a cow milking barn) was made of cement block possibly around the 1940s. I'm not real sure of its age, it could be newer or older. It has these rusty metal frame windows in the what are now stalls. I use plexiglass panes in the winter, but pull them out in the summer and these are the clips which hold the panes in place. I have been searching everywhere from Ebay to old country hardware stores to online since the 1990s and have not been able ... moreto find any or anyone who even recognized or had a clue about them even though I had photos of my old ones and the windows they fit in. I only had a few left and finally. I was able to find someone who had a bunch and I stocked up so I would never have to hunt for these things again in my lifetime! I decided that if someone else has gone thru what I have in looking for them, they will also be very happy to have found them! Unfortunately they weren't cheap for such a tiny little part, but it is sure a lot cheaper than replacing the whole window(especially in a cement block building) One of my rusty old windows is shown in several photos to let you know what kind of window these will fit. My windows are rectangular with two panes and each pane needs four clips. Total eight per my window(although I only took photos with six hooked on and of course no pane) They are aluminum so bend easily which is why over the years I used so many when horses popped out the plexiglass with their noses and the clips either fell onto floor and got stepped on and flattened or were lost. Cottage Swing Double Windows Art Deco Mission Style Vintage Pair Window
Here is a very cool set of wood and glass windows that swing open and shut. When they are swung together they interlock with one side having a recess and the other side having the wood fit into it. I probably didn't describe that very well but look at the pictures. There are 12. This would not be an air tight interlock like they make today of course. These are probably from the 1920's-30's I'm guessing from the style. Maybe earlier. They have a quaint cottage look to me. Please see the measurements because they are on the small side(compared to today's supersize everything) They could be hung inside a house as a sort of divider at a bar or in the conventional way but they wouldn't be very weather worthy. They are painted brown. It looks like a primer underneath and it doesn't look like they have been painted more ... morethan once by my eye. I don't know what type of wood is underneath the paint. There is wear to the paint. I could also see these hung in a childs playhouse. Or I could see these in a custom made greenhouse. These would add the architectural touch to make where ever you hung them. I don't see anything more than normal wear. The hinges are a little stiff but do work. There is a little rust on the locking piece of hardware at the bottom. There must have been a type of pull handle but there is nothing there now. See the photo with the tiny hole(where the handle probably went about mid way) There is wear to the paint. Please see all 12 pictures. These will take me a fair amount of money on packaging materials to get them in one piece to their final destination. And I will ship the two pieces in separate boxes. Offering in VERY GOOD CONDITION. a vintage WOOD FRAME multi-paned PRAIRIE STYLE WINDOW/TRANSOM Architectural Salvage from a 120 year old schoolhouse I purchased this window over twenty years ago from an expensive antique store in Evanston. Illinois. I intended to use it as an art project and restore it with a distressed mirror in the middle, surrounded by leaded and stained glass. It was destined to hang over the hutch in my dining room but alas, I never got around to it. I've never seen another window quite like it. 6 vintage spring-loaded window sash stay locks & 17 latch plates Victorian style
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 The locks were mounted on the top of the bottom sash and the catches were recessed into the jamb. The 2-inch lock bolt extends about ½-inch into the catch and can be retracted flush by pulling the knob and twisting it slightly. All six locks work well. The lock base is about 1-1/8 x 1-¼ inch. The latch plates are about 1 5/16 inches x 9/16 inches. They all are iron with a coppery finish that appears more brassy in the photos. All have some level of finish loss and oxidation as shown in the photos.

Very ornate- I like to refer to it as a'teapot' style. This is an original very nice window lock that you push the lever down and move over and pops back up opening or closing. Has the original screws and pics from every side and underneath. It is a strong chain with small links about 1/2" each. I do not know what material it is made of. But it has been hanging outside on my barn for years and it just doesn't rust. 15 antique cast iron window sash lifts victorian eastlake style
Matched set of 15 antique cast iron window sash lifts in great useable condition. No cracks or breaks. There are a few casting defects on the back side of some of the handles but should not be visibile in the mounted position. One of the handles has a small bit of the casting missing on the tip of the mounting plate, see photo. There may be some small amounts of old paint and some corrosion in the details. measures 5 1/16"

Fancy Decorative Cast Iron Window lifts/Victorian Style the lifts were polished and lacquered some time ago but they will probably need to be redone. there are light spots of rust on some of the lifts but other than that they are all in good condition. They measure approximately 1 1/2 by 1 inch in size and the little lift extends about one inch from the back of the lift. the screw holes are spaced about 1 inch apart.
