A pair of ca 1880 Victorian 2 1/8" in diameter sulphide glass curtain tie backs with white snowflake center design and and brass surround with Greek Key alternating with floral clusters. The glass medallions are 1 3/8" in diameter and rise 1/8" from the rim of the surround. The turned wooden posts are 3 1/4" long and they are 5" to the end of the screws. They are unsigned but are most likely from a maker like P. E. Guerin. Please feel free to politely offer your opinion. They are in very good condition. You may find a flake or two off the side rims of the glass. But nothing that detracts in my opinion. Antique pair of sulphide curtain tie backs from the Victorian Period circa 1880's. White snowflake design with glitter still visible. The brass surrounds are decorated in a Greek pattern. The pair are in excellent antique condition. The tiebacks measure 2.5" in) in diameter with the center medallion. Measuring 2" in) in diameter. The center medallion rises 1/2" from the surface rim of the surround. The screw shafts attached are 3" in) long There are some scratches found on the back surfaces. Considered normal wear for something this old. Also on the back surface. Is exactly where you would expect to find it from normal use.See Photos These are a great find for a collector. Each head is clearly pictured so look close for the shape and condition of the old Victorian antique. The glass is perfect on both heads. The brass has taken on a great patina over the years. The black paint is close to perfect as you could want. These curtain tiebacks were likely made in the late 1800's. Ideal for authentic restoration and antique effect. They are old and it will add instant age and history. The head is 1 5/8" in diameter and it is 3 3/4” long with out ... morethe screw. Pr Antique Barbola Window Pediment Gold Leaf Gesso Swag Crest Valance Boxes Absolute fantastic pair or ornate window valences from an old house. Measure 44" long- 6" deep- 5" high the curve back and have a brass rod for the curtains- metal bracket to attached to window frame and side hooks. I see one is missing, but can easily be replaced, they are open up facing hooks. Of course some of the gesso is missing from age. But as you can see they are in extremely nice vintage original condition- the middle of 1 is missing the crest top, see photo and the corners have some slight loss but overall in fabulous condition. The center crest medallion with the side floral swags are still intact. The true gold gilt color is present- its just some of my poor quality photos show different muted gold, but these have a warm gold tone. The remains ... moreof paper labels are on the center back(photos 14& 15) ction Carved Frame Corp. with measurements and the Co. name etc. but most of it is missing. Shipping will vary on east coast- west coast location. So please do not pay till auction end and I can adjust the amount. Local pick up is also welcome.
