Quartersawn Oak Slatted & Rattan Mission Wastebasket with Lift Handles
Up for bid is a mission style wastebasket with oak slats. Rattan framed bottoms and lift handles for easy use. No maker's mark on the piece, but I am mentioning for potential identification that it could possibly have been made by Stickley Brothers, as they did make pieces with rattan. Seller does not certify as such. This is a very heavy wastebasket. Some quartersawn oak on corner posts, but straight grain on upper rails. Pinned corners and no looseness in joints. Looks to have been refinished sometime within the last 30 years or so. Has a nice reddish-brown finish. Two of the four rattan sections have slight breaks to material, less than a square inch, but does not distract. Mentioned for condition accuracy. Measures 12" x 12" x 18" tall. You are bidding on an Antique Cornish Company Pump Organ Wooden Decorative Lift Handles Ca. 1900's. Each piece is 7" across and about 9 1/8" from top to the pointed bottom. These are the handles that are on the side of the organ so it can be picked up. They are decorated and have the original patina. The finish has come off on one of the block pieces see pic# 3&4. This auction is for a vintage wood sewing basket. Probably from the 40's or so. It has dual doors each with decorative grooves under the knob and a silhouette of a woman's head. The ends are beautifully curved and the top handle arches too. Inside there is a a curved shelf at each end, just right for thread spools. The exterior dimensions are 10 inches long, 8 high to the top of the handle and 8 wide at the widest point. It has some damage, a little chipping to the wood at the feet and one corner of a door is chipped away so the pivot pin doesn't hold there. 3 Antique Brass Metal Lift Handles for Metal Containers with Covers,Nuts,& Bolts
Up for your consideration are these 3 antique Victorian brass metal lift handles with covers. Nuts, bolts. Each handle measures about 4 inches wide and the bolts are on 3 3/4 inch centers. Two attach with nuts and one attaches with slot head bolt. They were most likely hand made for attaching to a metal container. An added bonus is the square brass end covers that are all original.
