LOT 8 ANTIQUE HARDWARE DOORKNOBS-PLATES AND LOCKS-EARLE-BRASS&GLASS
This listing is for 8 sets of antique door knobs with 16 back plates; and 8 lock assemblys. The doorknobs are all matching in design. However 5 have brass on both ends; 2 have brass on one end and chrome on the other and one has chrome on both ends. The back plates match the ends; there are 12 brass back plates; 3 chrome back plates and one round chrome back plate. I have posted a photo of the chrome set by itself as it also has a different lock set. The locks are marked EARLE. The approximate measurements are as follow: doorknob 6 inches long; glass knob 1 3/4 inches across; plates 6 1/8 inches long; 1 5/8 inches at widest point; lock 5 1/4 inches long; 7/8 inches wide and the round chrome plate is 2 inches across with lock for this being 1 3/4 inches long; 7/8 inches wide and finally the lock set is 3 5/8 inches wide and 3 1/8 inches deep ... morewith the brass part on the lock being 5 1/4 inches ling and 7/8 inches wide. These sets are in working order and in good condition for there age. They could use some cleaning; there is some paint on the edges and the chrome ones seem to have some slight rust on them. I have three keys which fit the locks and the locks work smoothly. The all chrome unit has it's own turn key and works smoothly( I think this unit was for a bathroom door) The glass knobs are in good condition with no breaks or chips. Antique Glass Door Knobs with Brass Plates - 7 Knobs
Antique Glass Door Knobs Lot of 7 glass knobs. Included: 7 knobs. 6 plates. Note 6 of these have same brass fitting with detail, the 7th knob has a different brass more basic brass fitting- please see image pointing this out. Condition: Spindles are attached(jammed) on two of these. However, I did not put great effort into detaching them(figured prying them off may damage glass) Metal parts are pure brass. Door plates are also pure brass. No chips in glass. These are obviously old. I'm guess 1940's, so the naturally come with wear and tear, a little paint. Please note screws that hold knobs onto spindles are not included except for the one different knob attached to spindle- in this case. The hex screw spins and will not surface. More to come. Although the door and keyhole escutcheons have a copper or bronze look. The original screws with the exception of one missing flat head wood screw are included. Antique Corbin Brass/copper door lock set/plates/knobs/lock/no key July 17,1900
This is a old door lock set that we removed from our antique door. It looks like brass or copper not sure which one or both. It surely needs to be restored as needs some cleaning. The date on the back of the plates say July 17.1900. The plates are two different sizes one is 7" and the other 10" It says Corbin on the lock. It looks like a matched set because of the dates on each of the plates and the color. It looks like black with the copper and brass. On the lock at the top it has a S34. That's about all I know. Vintage German Period Door handles Wehag Brass 1930s Art Deco Modernist w/plates
A pair of German door handles dating from the 1930s* Please scroll down for more pictures An attractive pair of 1930s German door handles. Redolent of the modernising influences(Modernism, Art Deco) of the period. They were made by Wehag. One of the oldest famous Germany door handle makers, whose foundry was originally established in 1749. The company became associated with the Bauhaus through its manufacture of the famous Gropius door handle from 1929 until the outbreak of the First World War. Materials: They are a very substantial pair of handles. Cast in solid brass and complete with original lock plates. They are factory marked on the spindle(the legend is legible upon close inspection but somewhat rubbed) and stamped with the number 4084 on the reverse. The grip section of the handle measures 115 mm in length and about 28 mm at its widest ... morepoint. The square spindle linking the two handles is 9 mm in width. The lock plates are approximately 235 mm in length and 48 mm at their widest. Condition: Extremely good used condition with no significant damages. Lot(A) of 3 Brass Amerock Receptacle Plates in the Carriage House Design. These plates came fr om a lot than appeared to be splattered with something. They have been lightly cleaned to rem ove dust but they still have somet hing on them that comes off when wiped with a c lean cloth. Perhaps oil? I'm not sure. There is also varying degrees of wear to the finish. Please lo ok at photos. The early amer ock plates were marked with" Amerock" on the back and were heavier than the subsequent p lates which were marked with an"A" with a circle around it. One of these plates is marked" Amer ock" and weighs 140 g. Two of these plates are marked with an"A" and weigh 10 0 g. Check out my auctions for more amerock of the same design.
