First in my grandma's house while growing up and then in my own home for about the past 30 years. I was told that it was custom-made and that it is one-of-a-kind. I would describe the style as subtle art deco. I have used it as a sideboard/credenza/buffet/chest as well as storage in an office, where it received constant compliments. It is wonderfully well-made in a very subtle art deco/craftsman/eclectic design that will actually work well with and complement many styles of furniture, including mid-century modern, arts& crafts, Eames era, and craftsman. I have been told by a carpenter with knowledge of wood, that it is a fine grade of teak, with beautiful dovetailing and separations between the drawer compartments ... moreand cabinet sections. One of the two side drawers is lined with green felt and partitioned to accommodate serving pieces or silverware. On each side, under the small top drawers, is a door behind which is open storage with two levels. In the center are three drawers, one shallower drawer at the top and two deeper drawers below. It is designed so that the center section with the drawers is gracefully indented between a slightly wider section on each end, with the drawers and open storage. The corners solid wood top are gracefully rounded, as is the place where the center section curves out to meet the wider sides. The hardware is beautifully simple and well designed. It is in very good to excellent vintage/antique condition. With smoothly sliding drawers and very little in the way of surface cosmetic concerns. All the joints are. Dimensions: Width is 62-1/2 inches. The two outer sections are 21 inches deep. The center section is 19-1/2 inches deep. Height is 33-3/4 inches. Inside the doors. Arts & Crafts/Deco Era Havstad Pewter Norway Tea Pot, Creamer & Sugar Bowl
Again I have one of those items that I rationalize as to why I don't keep it myself. Early Havstad Pewter is pretty scare and this is a quite fine example. The Set includes The Tea pot with hinged covered lid. Creamer and Sugar Bowl. Very handsome style in Arts& Crafts? Art Deco style made in the early 1900's and signed. All of the pieces are free from rust, dents and dings. No deep scratches and minimal scuff as you can see by the photographs. The inside of the Tea Pot could be cleaned a bit better for proper use, Most handsome is the rippled wooden turned handles on both the Tea Pot and Creamer. The curve of the spouts are tastefully done as well with horizontal ribs along the rims. The Tea Pot stands6 inches tall and would hold 2 cups of liquid with room to spare. Both the Cream Pitcher and Sugar Bowl stand at 3-1/2 inches.

Antique mission style. Arts and crafts solid wood bookcase. All the style and craftsmanship of the Mission era as it is an original from that time. Original very dark burgundy paint. There are some flaws in the paint but it would be nice stripped or repainted. Stands straight and tall. Excellent size and height at 36 inches tall by 8 1/2 wide by 18 inches long. The sale begins with an important and massive Samuel Yellin wrought-iron floor candelabrum from the 1920s. Possibly made for the Washington National Cathedral. ITEM: Under the virtual hammer this week is a wonderful pair of Arts& Crafts bronze. Sand-cast owl bookends. These were made by a fairly obscure company called Gift House Inc. under the'BronzeMet' logo, established in 1922(unfortunately, the hallmark is very nearly illegible; however, I have provided an example for comparison) ... moreBronzeMet was a contemporary of the larger, more prolific companies of Armor, Bradley& Hubbard, Galvano, Kathodian, Marion, and Pompeian. Here is some additional information I've discovered: BronzMet was a distinctive logo patented by The Gift House. Inc. in 1922. They produced a large variety of sand cast iron bookends. Gift House was in business from the early 1920s producing their own line of iron bookends with copyrights dating from 1924-1926. At one time there was also a distribution liaison between Gift House and Nuart Metal Creations who was listed as a Gift House subsidiary. All three bookend lines. Hard hit by the Great Depression, were out of business by the mid 1930s. These stylish bookends are certainly top-quality. Heavy pieces with a wonderful patina on them. Each owl, standing on an open book, is burnished in lush, coppery bronze. Owls are, of course, the ancient symbol of wisdom and erudition. In addition to the maker's mark, each bookend is also stamped with"D 18" probably a catalog number) Each bookend measures approximately 5½" in height and 3½" in width at the base. Handsome high arts and crafts period dresser tray. Glass topped. Faux wood grained, double handled. The center motif is almost identical to the Mackintosh rose, and the entire piece is understated, in the manner of true arts and crafts sensibilities. The motif is inlaid into the background, although it appears to be paper and not wood inlay. The effect is gorgeous. Very slight damage to one small area(tiny knicks, maybe two or three) of the frame, can be restored satisfactorily with wood grain or felt pen. Other than this, it is in great shape, and I would use it in my home as is.Measures 19" with handles x 11" wide. My brother. An arts and crafts expert, and I are having a"discussion" as to whether this is arts and crafts or art deco. We are calling it both. The rose appears arts and crafts and the side bars show art ... moredeco influence. The date of the tray is probably c. 1910, so it is right on the cusp era-wise. You be the judge.

Hi Super Original Desktop Box in dark wood with brass finish to the edges. Mounted on circular brass feet and with an inset design to top in brass. I cannot decide if this box is Art Deco or possibly Art Nouveau going by the design to the top. Internally the box has been felt lined to the base and a piece of fabric has been affixed to the inside of the lid using drawing pin's which still has two long pins(hat pins) in place. Great Condition overall. Would really benefit from a polish to the brass and wood which would make this wonderful box look really rather nice. Old Deco Machine Age Hand Made Arts Crafts Solid Copper Bookends Book End 13 Lb.
This listing is for a beautiful pair of vintage hand machined solid copper bookends. Together. They weigh 13.5 pounds. Nice original patina- I wiped them off with a damp rag to clean off the dust, and they came up nice, without damaging the original patina. I heavily cleaned the underside of one to show the rich copper color underneath(11th photo) The machining, and file marks are still visible in areas, and add to the great texture. Golden mustard, and shades of orange-brown. Fully marked on bottom. One chip to the exterior on one of the flowers, one hairline with a fleabite, three small chips along the top rim, some glaze chips and crazing to the interior. This particular stylized geometric rendition of the ROSE is a classic of the Arts& Crafts Movement which featured star craftsmen like Gustav Stickley. Charles Limbert, Roycroft. The rug/blanket measures approx. 72" x 50" and is in excellent vintage pre-used condition.there are VERY minor thinner areas- NOT BY MUCH AND no holes at all. There is PINK stitching for no apparent reason(see photo 7) as there is no hole to patch- perhaps the maker of the rug planned to add some embellishments to that area but never finished. It's big! It's beautiful! And as you can tell from all the descriptive terms in the listing title. I'm not sure of the exact age and style. I ran out of room in the description or I would have added European and Jugendstihl to the mix. We have had it for 5-6 years and it came from an estate, so we couldn't get any history about it. We never worried much about exactly what it's pedigree was, because it was such a great piece. It does have areas that could use restoration and I've got about half a gig of pictures that show all in great detail. I can email you additional photos. The upper cabinet has three doors with glass and the center glass has that very pretty arts and crafts design. There are lighter wood inlay designs in the bottom of the two outer doors. The upper cabinet has a removable shelf. The counter top ... moreis a piece of marble. It is in one piece but there is a fracture line running diagonal that's hard to see in the photo, which might be a natural part of the grain. Below the counter and above the two drawers is a slide out extension. The two drawers below it are nice and roomy. The two big doors on the bottom open to a huge interior storage area that has a shelf dividing it into upper and lower areas. The front has the lighter wood designs on the doors and the curved portion of the front facing portion of the sides. The additional pictures I have show the details so much better. The doors and drawers have locks, but the keys didn't come with it. I've never shipped anything of this size, but I know a Pack and Ship company that can take care of this. I'll get you a quote if you send me an address. Though it's large, the top comes off and the marble counter comes out, so it actually becomes manageable for 2-3 guys to move. 20s French Art Deco quilt in over the top ROMANTIC ROSES Arts & Crafts Era Rare!
This quilt is massive. In wonderful museum quality condition and dates from the early 1920s with a true arts and crafts pattern of warp printed roses. French Art Deco fabric at it's best the size of this quilt betrays the fact that this was made by a wealthy person nearly 100 years ago who could afford the very best. It measures a massive 90"X 73" It's stuffed with cotton, winter weight-and is machine bound and hand tied. Fully reversible a whole cloth quilt of really the most favorite of my roses patterns I've sold over the years. It's not often made anymore warp weave print at least not in the Western world it's somewhat cost prohibitive to create today which is hilarious to think about-remember this fabric was handprinted but today's machines don't do it as well and people don't like it for they ... moredon't get it's supposed to look sort of blurry like it got wet, like a watercolor painting by a Cassat or a Sargent, symbolic of the shades of roses as well as the pattern in itself. Really a charming and usable antique I saw no damage no holes or stains if it's faded it's evenly. I don't think that it has been washed the fabric has that crisp starched feeling of the original sizing but it is still soft, clean and has been aired out on my seaside clothesline. It's a great piece and the fabric is bar none really wonderful.

Here is a beautiful art deco/arts and crafts pottery vase by Catalina. It is a great vintage design and style and would look wonderful in anyone's California art pottery collection. The vase stands just over 5" tall x approx. 3 and 1/4" widest. The shape of this vase is just amazing with tiny little edges sticking out and a great curved opening. The glaze is a gloss light blue/almost slight grey glaze and is just beautiful. For its age. The vase is in nice condition with no repairs. There is one very tiny glaze nick(glaze chip) to the upper rim edge area as pictured about 2mm in length. This does not distract from the vase's beauty or use. The other issue is on/near the bottom. This is also pictured. It is a glaze nick in 2 small places about 1mm at the very bottom almost at bottom edge and another slightly higher which ... morehas a small circular crack to it. It is still attached to the vase and is hard to see. I am starting this auction at a low amount to reflect these issues but overall the piece of pottery still shows very well and is quite nice. Vintage Brush-McCoy Pottery Art Vellum Vase. My reference book shows Art Vellum was introduced in 1925. The color is called Maroon and has a white mottled or drip glaze. It stands approx. 4 7/8" high and 6" wide. The top opening is 2 3/4" The bottom has the unglazed ring and is not marked. According to another eBayer these are considered hard to find especially in this color. It's in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or hairlines. There is very fine light crazing mostly around the opening. There are tiny glaze pops on the handles and one on the side. Nothing major but I wanted to mention everything for you.
