Vintage, casement window stays salvaged from the windows of a former cream production plant(see last photos) in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The plant was built during the 1890's, however, these most likely replaced the originals sometime during the middle of the previous century. Each stay is made of solid steel. And was originally brass plated. Much of the plating wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. The amount of plating varies from part to part(see"Group photos" to compare) If you are not familiar with this type of hardware. It keeps the window open at a specified distance from the sill. When you wish to open the window, loosen the knob by simply turning it in a counter clockwise direction. Open the window as far as you like, and once you wish to lock it in place, simply turn the knob clockwise until can't turn anymore. This will prevent wind from moving the window. At the point of salvage. The stays were painted, dirty, and rusty(see"Prior to restoration" photo) Since then, we've spent hours removing the paint, cleaning the dirt and rust from the outside of each stay, and greasing them to facilitate their movement. All stays are in great shape with no breaks. Cracks, deep scratches, or gouges. All moveable parts move smoothly. 3 Rare Vtg Antique Leaded Hand Blown Glass Rondelle Windows 17" x 21" x 1.5"
This is a set of 3 very old vintage or antique leaded hand blown glass rondelle windows. Two are in their original and very heavy frames and one is not(just the insert with glass) These may be from my grandmother's house which was built in 1830. I inherited them from my late aunt. The rondelles on one of the windows are in great condition. There's some cracks on the rondelles in the other framed window and quite a few cracked ones in the insert piece. The leading is very heavy and the construction of the window frames seems to come from an early period. But I have no expertise in this. The framed windows are are 17" x 21" x 1.5" and the insert is 13" x 7" The framed windows weigh about 8.5 lbs each.

Originally for stores or businusses. Other shapes also but these are of the oldest original basic designed. They are heavy thick and durable, obviously to have endured appox 125-150 years. Other companies such as Addison soon began making them adding even more decorative patterns to be used for architectural design. Though rare you'll find them in an assortment of colors and patterns. These are perfect to be used in archecture. Backsplash,window design, decorating, display or just collecting turn ... moreof the century glass. All have nicely turned over the years so are a rich purple. Some have a few edge nips which shouldn't affect the use when mounted and paint from over a hundred years of window use.
