5 Antique 1872 Eastlake Cast Iron Window Latch Sash Lock Hardware Stripped Bare
Up for auction is a set of 5 antique 1872 Easlake Victorian window latch locks plus one part. These have all been stripped to bare metal and lightly sprayed with lacquer to inhibit rust. Absolutely not reproductions! These had about 6 layers of paint. A bit of work got these to this point. Each measures 2 1/4" wide x 2" deep. Nice Eastlake design on the latch. These close by rotating the latch on the arch of the second half. It locks and squeezes the windows together to"seal" drafts. Three of these have the spring steel that allows you to keep pressure. Two are missing the spring steel. This is an easy fix by just cutting a small piece of spring steel and squeezing it into place. These still function without but work better with. Lot of 5 Antique Cast Iron Shutter Locks I hate to even write this. But I have noticed low DRS star ratings for my shipping charges. I'm trying to not sound crass, but before you bid, take note of the shipping amount. Do not bid if you think the shipping is too high. No one is forcing you to bid on my items if you do not like the shipping charges. Please do not bid on my items, all well and knowing the shipping charges, and then leave me low DSR Star ratings for shipping and hadling charges. I pack and weigh, then put that weight in ebay. Ebay and the post office calculates the shipping, and the post office has raised their rates this year. I also end up paying 10% of the shipping charges to ebay for fees. So, I end up having to pay 10% of the shipping out of my pocket to cover what ebay took. Up for bid is a lot of 5 shutter locking ... moremechanisms. They are made of cast iron and would mount on the shutters and the other part would mount on the side of the house so when the sutters were opened they could lock into place. These(7) 5 cast iron window weights are a great find. They are 14.25 inches long with minimal pitting. Very good condition for the age. They are stamped H. Wall. They were salvaged from an old home demolition that I have been helping my dad with. I do not know the age of the home as the family has passed away and we are doing the demolition for their extended family who have minimal knowledge of the property.
